Philadelphia police say an 11-year-old boy fatally shot his mother's boyfriend during an altercation between the couple.
The 911 call came in around 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, when police were called to the 1100 block of Peach Street in Southwest Philadelphia.
Arriving officers and medics say they found the 30-year-old boyfriend lying on the bedroom floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have identified him as Jaimeer Jones-Walker of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.
Investigators say Jones-Walker showed up at the house where his girlfriend lives with her children and began assaulting her in the bedroom.

Don’t need photos I’ll bet.
Good on ya, son.
Sources tell Action News this started as an argument over the couple’s newborn baby, who is still in the hospital.
Not this time.
It’s them again, Yogi.
A boy protecting his mother from violent assault. I’m more concerned at the disarray in my sock drawer.
wah. I doubt if even Boo Hoo Girl could muster a tear.

“Don’t be messin’ wit ma Mama!!”
The real tragedy is it’s likely the boy’s mother already knew her boyfriend had violent tendencies, but she had a Baby with him anyway. This was probably not the first time her son witnessed this man hurting his mother.
Better scenario would have been if she had pulled her own gun out and defended herself.
Her son may have seen himself as “Man Of The House”, so he made a decision then and there to do something about the threat, vs just waiting for the abuse to stop, like usual.
It’s always them.

An 11 year-old boy who saved his mother from a man he had to shoot and kill will always be someone who has shot and killed a man. He should be able to live it down. However, he has quite a few years to go before he reaches adulthood.
