A bill introduced into the Colorado State Senate last week would make Colorado the first state in the U.S. to fully decriminalize prostitution if it became law.
Senate Bill 26-097 would require the entire state to decriminalize “commercial sexual activity among consenting adults,” both for people who buy sex and who would sell it. This would be unique in the U.S., as the only other states with any form of legal prostitution, Maine and Nevada, still have certain rules around it.
In Nevada, for instance, prostitution is only legal within licensed houses of prostitution, or brothels, and some counties in the state have banned those.
In Maine, meanwhile, buying sex is still illegal, only selling sex has been decriminalized. Democrats there who supported that law said this was to reduce punishments for sex workers who are victims of crimes and make reporting crimes easier, which is the same argument Colorado’s bill has for legalizing it here.
“Criminalizing prostitution endangers adults who engage in consensual sexual activity,” Colorado’s proposed bill reads. “Fear of criminal punishment among consenting adults engaged in commercial sexual activity encourages physical, emotional, and structural violence against sex workers, subjects them to economic crimes, and increases resistance to harm-reduction practices. Sex workers are less likely to report these crimes or seek medical help following an assault.”
Colorado’s bill goes further than Maine’s by also decriminalizing buying sex, which the bill says is to allow sex workers to better be able to screen prospective clients. Since the clients wouldn’t be participating in an illegal activity if the pass was law, they would be more willing to provide personal information, maintaining sex workers’ safety.

Hey, politicians need to earn a living after they get voted out of office.
This is the crowning achievement of Feminism: women reduced to whores.
Colorado is a State with high amounts of human trafficking.
In effect, they have already legalized prostitution.
It used to be mafia and criminals who controlled societies vices - gambling, drugs, marijuana, the sex trade
Now its government.
Being the early adopter on pot legalization caused an influx of undesirables that turned the state into a blue hellhole. I wonder how much further it can sink if it becomes a prostitution destination.
All they need now is Rock N Roll , LOL
Slavery disguised as liberty. I worked with some of those girls. They weren’t having sex to make some money. They were having sex to make their pimp some money. That’s why I never spoke to them.
Colorado ping.
Progress
Colorado will be different, I guess. If prostitution is legal, will there be sales tax? Income tax? You know there will be.
Since it 's completely legal now, can hookers advertise? Can't wait to see the billboards.
Someone will have to get a jo to pay for sex, from a Stranger, whos had sex with possibly 100's of others.
The STD rate will explode. More doctors, more medicines, more illegal drugs to cover up the moral and emotional pain of sex for a living. All in all, More business all around!
before you hit your keyboards, I didnt say it was a good business. Just good for business, Satan's business.
No tax for Tips
The way the Cauliphonyans took over the the Rocky Mountain HIGH state, I thought prostitution was already legal there. All the wimmins there are angry, foul-mouthed haters so the men brought in some broads who are a lot easier and friendlier to be around. Also, prostitutes don’t grow beards and have hairy armpits.
So Colorado, in its quest to make guns illegal, allows pre-emption of state carry laws by local governments, is proposing legalized prostitution with no pre-emption?
Sex worker shops will be protected from local objection like abortion clinics?
ICE will clear our street corners of illegal alien panhandlers just in time for licensed pimps to populate them with ladies of the night?
Feminists should be proud of this.

Nevada.
It’s been very sad to watch Denver become the crime ridden shythole it is now. The hippies started moving there in the 60s because the Big Earthquake was coming to California according to some Indian Yogi. No I am not making it up. Hippies were completely in the thrall of Hindu Mysticism.
