A salacious letter purportedly written by Jeffrey Epstein that directly referenced President Trump is fake, the Justice Department said Tuesday.
“The FBI has confirmed that this alleged letter from Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar is FAKE,” the DOJ wrote on X hours after it pledged it was “looking into the validity of this alleged letter.”
Epstein purportedly wrote the letter to fellow jailed sex offender Larry Nassar — the disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor who is serving hundreds of years of prison for abusing girls under his care.

Of course it was fake I don’t remember it being possible for dead people to write letters and ship it from states they were not currently living in but my question is why was this fake letter in the files to begin with

First time I have seen Larry Nassar fully identified.
I know his story, but forgot his name years ago.
The MSM flashed this letter around the world with out explaining who Larry Nassar was.
No one would have believed this letter if they knew.

On today’s (December 23, 2025) edition of TMZ Live, the first 10 minutes was spent covering Epstein file release. In particular they concentrated on this particular letter. The host, I believe his name is Charles (Harvey Levin was absent on today’s episode), seemed to suggest that Epstein actually wrote this letter but that he had an axe to grind against Trump and may have lied in the letter. I wonder if Charles’ speculation that Epstein made up facts in his letter is enough to dissuade Trump from suing TMZ.
Wasn’t there a communication with a Congressional Democrat, where Epstein asked him if he wanted him to implicate Trump, or something like that?
