EXCLUSIVE - A North Carolina high school student said she was accused of vandalism by her school and told she was being investigated by law enforcement after she painted her school's "spirit rock" with a religious and patriotic tribute to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
According to a new complaint filed Monday and shared first with Fox News Digital, Gabby Stout, a junior at Ardrey Kell High School, called her school's front office on September 12 to ask if she could paint the school spirit rock with a patriotic message honoring Kirk, who was killed two days prior. Stout was told she could do so as long as the message didn't contain vulgarity or political speech.
The complaint states that she and two friends proceeded to paint a heart and an American flag with the message "Freedom 1776," and a tribute to Charlie Kirk: "Live Like Kirk—John 11:25" on September 13. The students also painted their first names on the rock.

Geaux Ms Gabby!!
Many local governments (and school boards / administrators are a local government) are clueless about 1A rights. This can end up biting the taxpayer in the butt.
This is that left wing dump Charlotte. Figures as much

That’s a key point. The instruction is too vague. The school should have asked Stout exactly what her message was. But evidently they didn’t.
It looks like Stout should prevail in any lawsuit. Not because of censorship (schools can censor), but because they harassed her by accusing her of vandalism and bringing in law enforcement.
Most statements are considered ‘political speech’ by those that don’t agree, and ‘hate speech’ by those trying to force an opposing view.
The heads of the demons on the board exploded when they saw who it was for.
There are no conservative school districts anywhere in America.
Just left a note for the principal and the other school administrators. Not hard to do...
“Freedom 1776” is political speech, because it triggers democrats!
If you read the article, it details the two times BLM was allowed to post their messages.
At some point, do we need to channel our forefathers and bring back tarring and feathering and the stockade to stop this abuse? The school officials who are responsible for this abuse of this student need to be made public. I am sure the squeaky wheel gets the grease and there are others who are intimidated by these loudmouth.

Thanks. I got a paywall when I first tried to read the article. But I just checked again. This time I could get to the article. Odd. Maybe it’s a time thing.
Anyway, you raise a very important point. School are allowed to censor. But it must be applied evenly, the same rules for all. I sure hope this student sues.
Her rights were violated in so many ways.
