New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has asked some City Hall employees to resign from their positions when he takes office on Jan. 1, his spokesperson confirmed to NewsNation affiliate WPIX on Wednesday.
The New York Times reported that the resignations, which will affect 179 workers.Mamdani recently announced he’s appointed more than 400 city leaders to 17 transition committees, which “will be tasked with not only making personnel recommendations but policy recommendations.”
His direct transition team includes alums of both the de Blasio and Adams administrations. Mamdani also plans to keep NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch in her role, citing the sharp decrease in crime since she took the helm.
His chief of staff is Elle Bisgaard-Church, who managed his own primary campaign, and former first deputy mayor for de Blasio, Dean Fuleihan, will serve the same position in Mamdani’s City Hall.
Mamdani also plans to keep NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch in her role, citing the sharp decrease in crime since she took the helm.

They will stare at the computers, trying to find out how to get the porn site subscriptions to be billed to the city after the resigning workers cut them off. Same with buying Amazon items charged to the taxpayers.
