US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of seeking a third term for the White House, saying he would "love to do it".
But Trump rejected the possibility of running for vice-president in 2028 - an idea floated by some supporters as a way for him to circumvent the US constitution that bars the president from running for a third term.
Speaking to reporters during his trip to Asia, Trump described the idea as "too cute" and said it "wouldn't be right".
It is unclear what method he would use to run again. Last week, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon said that a "plan" was in place to secure the 79-year-old president another term.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Japan from Malaysia, Trump said that while he would "be allowed" to run again as vice-president, he had no plans to do so.
"I think people wouldn't like that," he said. "It's too cute. It wouldn't be right."
Talking about the possibility of a third term, Trump said: "I haven't really thought about it. But I have the best poll numbers that I've ever had."

If Trump could prove that Biden stole the 2020 election from him, then he could make a case that since he was cheated out of his second term he should be able to run again allowing the voters to decide. I think they’re working on that angle. Trump has mentioned bringing everyone involved in rigging the last election for Biden to justice recently too. Does Trump’s DOJ have the guts to go there? We’ll see...

My close reading of the Constitution reveals that Trump couldn’t run for a third term after serving two consecutive terms, but that wouldn’t apply here. I think this is the argument he and his team will make when they announce the reelection campaign. There’s no such thing as a VP loophole, so I don’t know where that came from.
Obama’s been running a shadow presidency for 12 years and he still is!

LOL. This article sums up the liberal media’s twisted love/hate relationship with Trump. They hate hanging on Trump’s every statement but want the clicks that come with doing a Trump article, even if it means taking trolling about a third term at face value.
