Portland Mayor Keith Wilson ordered the removal of police tape near a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility this week despite the federal government's call for the establishment of a perimeter around the ICE location, according to a report on oregonlive.com.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem visited the ICE facility on Tuesday and Portland Police Bureau Chief Bob Day noted that authorities had the vicinity cordoned off for the occasion.
But the perimeter was removed on Wednesday, according to the report.

I’m pretty sure the Federal government has authority over its own facilities, not the local government.

Overt action like this should be prosecuted at the federal level as soon interference with law enforcement. This is over the line

Federal buildings are owned only to the curtilage of the property. That means generally, the streets and everything around them are city owned.

Interfering with federal authorities in the exercise of their legitimate actions is an act of insurrection and should be treated as such.

I’m beginning to think that we are on the precipice of a civil war. Just like the previous Civil War, the Democrats are to blame.

Why would local police be protecting a Federal paramilitary outfit? Does the SA not have enough goons to lock down a perimeter?

Put up police tape and guard them with a federal officer with orders to maintain the perimeter. Let the cops try to fight the feds. The cops won’t.

Why would local police be protecting a Federal paramilitary outfit?
Because in theory, the government of the nation, local, state, and federal are all supposed to be on the same side—enforcing the law. It is obvious that the government of the city of Portland, duly elected as it might be, has chosen to side with law breakers, i.e. illegal aliens. This has been done before, say a century and a half ago with disastrous results.

The ICE perimeters in Portland sound legitimate and legal.
