The Department of Justice has removed a study showing that white supremacist and far-right violence “continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic violent extremism” in the United States.
The study, which was conducted by the National Institute of Justice and hosted on a DOJ website was available there at least until September 12, 2025, according to an archive of the page saved by the Wayback Machine. Daniel Malmer, a PhD student studying online extremism at UNC-Chapel Hill, first noticed the paper was deleted.
“The Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs is currently reviewing its websites and materials in accordance with recent Executive Orders and related guidance,” reads a message on the page where the study was formerly hosted. “During this review, some pages and publications will be unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Shortly after Donald Trump took office he issued an executive order that forced government agencies to scrub their sites of any mention of “diversity,” “gender,” “DEI,” and other “forbidden words” and perceived notions of “wokeness.” The executive order impacted every government agency, including NASA, and was a huge waste of engineers’ time. We don’t know why the study about far-right extremist violence was removed recently, but it comes immediately after the assassination of conservative personality Charlie Kirk, accusations from the administration that the left is responsible for most of the political violence in the country, and a renewed commitment from the administration to crack down on the “radical left.” “For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world's worst mass murderers and criminals,” Trump said in a speech after Kirk’s death. “This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we're seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now. My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it.”
Elon Musk, who owns X, recently tweeted that he was going to “fix” the platform’s AI assistant Grok after it cited research that showed right-wing violence was more common than left-wing violence: “My apologies, we are fixing this cringe idiocy by Grok,” he said. Vice President JD Vance, who guest hosted Kirk’s podcast on Monday, also vowed to go after “growing and powerful minority on the far left.”
“Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives,” the study said. “In this same period, far-left extremists committed 42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives.” The DOJ did not immediately respond to our request for comment. Steven Chermak, one of the study’s co-authors, declined to comment.

Funny, I thought 9/11 happened after 1990.
Are they out of their f****** mind? Do they honestly think anybody’s going to believe this?
Hear me out- This Lie Is So blatant it just might backfire on them.
I know the Liberals are going to believe it, and quote this study on TV for days and days and days, but they always do that and have been doing it for decades.
But normal people are seeing through the media lies
Did they give actual examples?
I’d like to see the underlying data.
The left has saturated internet sources with sewer level bilge for decades, and people take internet sources more literally and seriously than Sacred Writ.
TITLE: LINK: “CNN Can Kiss My As $”: A Novel Description of Hyperpartisan US News Consumers
AUTHORS: Andrea Lorenz, Carolyn Schmitt, Shannon McGregor, Daniel Malmer
PUBLISHED: 2023/9/6
DESCRIPTION: News consumption in the United States is polarized and fragmented, with an abundance of partisan news publications appealing to political identities on both the left and the right. Yet, there is an abundance of hyperpartisan news on the right, the content of which has been shown to be harmful to democracy. This study captures one of the most comprehensive pictures to date of the U.S. Americans who consume far-right media and makes connections between such media use and the state of American democracy. After a lengthy data-cleaning process, we analyzed open-ended survey responses from a nationally representative sample of more than 10,000 U.S. American adults, finding that nearly ten percent self-report at least one far-right news outlet as a primary news source. Furthermore, significantly more U.S. Americans report consuming far-right and moderate-right news outlets than counterparts on the left. We then examined the characteristics of this small but significant group, given the current political climate in the United States, finding that far-right news consumers are overwhelmingly white, male, Republican, Christian, and without a college degree. This study reinforces previous findings that patterns in hyperpartisan media usage demonstrate growing extremism in the U.S., and that it is deeply rooted in identity. So. If you don't accept that CNN is a rational, bipartisan purveyor of truth with no bias or agenda, and are angry that they have abdicated the great responsibility that used to come with journalism, then YOU are the problem.
The left plays all kinds of games, I notice they brought up Islamic terrorism but didn’t go into the death and casualty numbers from Islamic terrorism (even if they would they would claim most was not countable because it was “mental illness” rather than ideology.
They also would count 911 as just one attack instead of a series. There is a thousand ways to twist statistics that they employ.
Yet they wouldn’t tell you how many were carried out by men and how many by women because they don’t know or rather don’t want to know the difference.
I cannot think of a single far-right event that would fit here.
I’d like to see the underlying data.
Since WWII, the surviving Left has peddled the big lie that Fascism is “right wing”. Both Mussolini and Hitler always said and identified as men of the left. There are no “conservative” totalitarian governments.
That is because crimes committed by Leftists and their acolytes are not judged to have any ideology behind them. They are considered to be "random" attacks.
On the other hand, anyone who voted for DONALD TRUMP (or ANY Republican) who commits any kind of crime is assumed to have done it for ideological purposes and rooted in racism.
When they do, you typically find that they cherry pick the criminals’ manifestos to find one thing they can label as right wing.
For example, the terrorist can be a freaking member of a socialist group yet be listed as “rightwing” if he is also racist or said something that could be interpretedcthat way.
They can’t tell you who is really right or left than they can define a woman.
That’s because it’s a bull$hit report.
Right. Because BLM and Antifa are soooo right wing.
“Funny, I thought 9/11 happened after 1990.”
It matters a lot if you include the 250 killed by Timothy Mcveigh, I think that was 1993. About half the total. they are probably including the Kyle Rittenhouse as a right wing murder, things like that. Pulse night club, oh yeah right wing Islamic terrorist. The Las Vegas killings, a guy who hated country music fans, gotcha, definitely right wing.
Darrell Huff wrote a book.....
The Trump DOJ likely took a look at it and just threw it in the trash, as it completely should have been. These people at "404" are angry about that.
I was fully prepared to learn they were taking government funds from the likes of USAID, but could find no evidence of that.
Read the transcript at this LINK: What is the connection between technology and democratic backsliding?
The "Transcript" can be found just above the writer credits at the bottom.
Perhaps I misread this, but these scumbags are not friends of the Constitution. If I read this incorrectly, feel free to let me know.
Don’t mess with our creds.
I think they included muzzies as right wing.
