2 facts about Charlie Kirk’s killer are VERY rare in the modern history of assassinations…

1) Firing ONLY one shot & it being perfect

2) Eluding capture until at least nightfall that day

I would be willing to bet that this was not this killer’s 1st rodeo, & he may be a “pro.”

From what I saw on the video, the shoot came at an angle. I believe Charlie also commonly wore soft body armor. So that would leave a shot to center mass as being a bit more challenging (body angled away and possible deflection of bullet from the soft armor if true).

Charlie would also often nod a lot when listening, but that also means the base of the neck has ‘less’ movement. The down angle trajectory also means the bullet is going into the chest cavity (I didn’t see an exit in the video).

It’s all conjecture if it was a professional or amateur, but so what. A person is dead, so the shooter accomplished their goal. Also, they were a distance away and a first-time shooter just isn’t buying a rifle on a Saturday a sighting it in, and making the shot on a Sunday. Even a lot of hunters never make a 200 yard shot (considering terrain, ground cover, etc.).

I'd assemble the set of cell phones that pinged during the event, and then map those cellphone movements during the rest of the day. How many remained on campus? How many traveled to nearby homes? How many have not pinged at all since the shooting? Look for the cell phone that seems out of place.

My bet, he was aiming for the head and got the neck. Watching through his scope he saw the massive arterial bleed and boogied out of there.

We need to hear more about the caliber and if it can be determined what kind of rifling the weapon had.
