President Donald Trump presented Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky with a large map showing the 20% of the country under Russian control.
During the Oval Office meeting on Monday, a large map depicting the current battlefield status of the war was presented to Zelensky.
The eastern part of the map was shaded in pink to represent the nearly 20% of the country under control by Putin's forces after the nearly four-year war.
The map may play a roll in pressuring Zelensky to consider transferring territory in order to seal a peace agreement.
Zelensky arrived to the White House for historic talks with President Donald Trump and aimed at ending the Ukraine-Russia war.
Zelensky was joined by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italy's Giorgia Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Germany’s Friedrich Merz and more.
The Ukrainian president appeared without a tie for the meeting. It was a bold statement after his appearance in military fatigues stirred controversy during his last Oval Office visit six months ago.

Someone explain to me why Zelensky brought his “buddies” with him? Did he expect them to all pile on Trump in some way? If so, bad mistake.
Sadly, the Soros backers here on FR won’t admit to that.
This situation reminds me of Finland vs zStalin’s Russia 1939.
Finland got insufficient support was vastly outnumbered had lost sognificant number of soldiers and civilians so accepted loss of territory and paid tribute to the invaders.
The theory better half a loaf than none.
Look at ‘em over here. They’re breathlessly trembling and drooling over Trump giving an offhand response to a media attempt to put him on the spot. It’s hilarious.

Of course, it’s the bloviatin’ frog.
"Pure logic. froggy proves once again what Mugasm Through Sock is all about."
Yeah, it's kinda like an ocarina, except it has sesame seeds.
Journalism and editing are dead.
That was never true.
All that was to occur was contacting the UN Security Council, should Russia and Ukraine fail to work things out, when they might occur.
It’s “Ukrainian.”
As I noted earlier, it’s actually correct on the original article at the source...
He’s one of the funniest ones when it comes to slathering on the B.S.
The only people he’s fooling with that stuff are other zeepers, but it’s hilarious to watch.
I don’t even bother reading his gas. A total bore and boor.
Oh I see. Thank you!
White flag froggie is so annoying.
No, he didn’t. 🙄
You said
It’s the only solution that makes sense.
And, pre-emptively, there are no cogent comparisons to Nazi Germany and the Sudetenland. So, Freepers and Zeepers, please don’t offer any.
That is all. As you were.

I wonder what made you think of that analogue?
Even so, I think context is important. Trump could have been showing Zelensky what he thought Putin wanted, not what he must give up. These would be different things. I cannot see any justification for any American president to dictate to any foreign leader what parts of his country he must give to another country for any reason. That is over-reaching.
If I were to say to you, it would make sense to reverse the Gadsden purchase and add southern California, giving all that to Mexico because they have occupied it and want it back, what would you say? That is what Zelensky probably said to Trump in diplomatic terms. As he should, if Trump suggested any such thing.
But if Trump said Putin wants this part, then that’s just a factual exchange. Why it would be on TV is part of a strategy to place common sense on the agenda. But dictating it would not be a good thing, or a good look.
I wish Russia did not have nuclear weapons, then perhaps they could be taught the lesson that Germany and Japan were taught in 1945, as they should be.
