President Donald Trump on Wednesday disowned his supporters who have called for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, chiding them as "weaklings" who "bought into this bulls---."
The lengthy post on Truth Social represents the clearest split from the faction of his MAGA base that has questioned the Justice Department’s handling of the case.
My "PAST supporters have bought into this “bulls---” hook, line, and sinker," he said in the post, adding, "Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore!"

Alan Dershowitz, who went to court because he was accused in the Epstein case, says there is no list, only a list by accusers, who were not exactly accurate in identification.
I have vainly been telling people there is no list. It would not last in court if someone made up one and released it. And whoever released it would be buried in lawsuits for the next fifty years.
You really think Epstein kept a discreet neat list of victims? Do you really think Comey and Wray would ever let it see the light of day if he did?

I was only semi-interested in the Epstein thing. I always figured nothing would come of it because too many rich and 'important' people involved. So the fact that Trump lashed out against supporters in this was weird. Certainly going after supporters is only going to add to the conspiracy theory side of things.
Save it, no one needs cowards that turns and runs as soon as there is any headwind. No matter what Trump gets done, it’s always about the next shiny object the msm tells you to care about.
We have been given the flight logs. Trump was on them but only continental. Is that the truth or a lie? Inquisitive aren’t you not?
The owner of this forum once equally backed He Who Can No Longer Be Named (W), and despite old-timey primary wars, when the rubber hit the road — the now-hated John McCain and Mitt Romney were also... supported - loudly and broadly.
Unlike the DUmmies and Koskids - this place has been around for a long time (30 years now!) because it has never become a cult of personality where some Dear Leader (like TheOne with the Obots) gets a pass if they run afoul of conservative values and constitutional fealty.
As I said in #122 — this particular imbroglio is not one high on my list of cares.
However, even despite my “whatever” attitude? And despite the fact that a lot of the complainers are folks I disagree with on a lot of *other* things? I think they do have a right to be angry.
As much as I don’t join them in their anger on this specifically - I can absolutely see their point and I’m sympathetic.
A core element of conservatism in general is honesty. It’s one of the moral differences between conservatives and leftists. Don’t make promises and fake hype things just to get people on your side.
For me personally? I long ago learned that, even with candidates that are my “least bad option”, just cut my taxes and leave me the hell alone. DJT has done that more than kameltoe would have. Better than the potato did. Better than PIAPS would have. Romney would have done that better than YoBama. So would McCain. So did W over Terreeezzaaa’s boytoy.... and W over the sighing blob.
A true “constitutional conservative” by his very soul and being is almost obligated to NEVER give any single elected official 100% support.
I was listening to a pod-cast recently. It’s run by a Christian and former atheist. He discussed why the Epstein files aren’t being released and it made sense. We know the obvious perverts - Bill, Hill, Ob, Gates, etc. His point is there are many powerful leaders outside the U.S. who were likely party to visiting the island. These are likely leaders who the President is negotiating various deals with - trade, etc. If their names are released it would cause chaos and possibly wars. This isn’t to take away anything that those poor girls and boys suffered and revenge WILL happen against those victims by a powerful God.
It is very odd. I have no idea what is going on. It almost sounds like Trump is saying these things to protect Bondi or his family members who would be murdered if he released files.

It has nothing to do with priority. Donald Trump personally and of his own free will made releasing the Epstein truth a campaign issue in 2024. He also made a promise to the American people to release the files unconditionally. Epstein was not even an issue until Trump brought the subject up. It was his own appointed AG who posed with a stack of files and declared all would be revealed. If anyone, it was he and his administration who made Epstein a priority.
Now he has abruptly and without plausible explanation violated his word and his promise. Calling people who are holding him accountable for his promise “stupid” is pure deflection and bullying, not a valid reason for intelligent people. He has deliberately and publicly defamed voters who believed him. Why should anyone believe anything else he says or promises?
There is no credible reason to withhold anything other than the identity and photos of the victims. Loss of seats in Congress or embarrassing big donors is not a valid reason for a coverup. Nor is revealing one or more foreign governments were engaged in blackmailing politicians and government bureaucrats.
If whatever happened is bad enough for Trump to kick his supporters in the teeth and lose his credibility, the truth must be revealed. A free people cannot trust a leader and government who lie intentionally to protect the well connected from accountability for criminal activity. Without trust there can be no real freedom.
One major priority of the MAGA movement is restoring trust in our system of government. If protecting criminals and criminal activity from accountability is more important than restoring trust to Donald Trump the MAGA movement is dead. This is the same as if Abraham Lincoln had announced ending slavery wasn’t a priority after being elected POTUS.
Bondi says she has the files. If so, releasing them can’t take much time or effort. Release the files and demonstrate you can be trusted. Continue with the lies and say goodbye to your mandate. Richard Nixon learned how quickly lies deception and coverups can destroy a president.
