The assistants who drafted the blurbs were not themselves in the room with Mr. Biden, according to the lists of meeting participants. The emails imply that Mr. Siskel and Mr. Zients relayed what Mr. Biden had said to the assistants, who then documented it.

Biden’s interview with NYT was short and by phone.

here’s the full article, which is an interview with biden in which he said he approved all pardons

Not even close to what Biden or the article says. He says he approved them (in the same way a boss says “go do it”), while it goes on to say they (aides) made a list of criteria for which pardons would be autopenned. Then whenever someone asked for a pardon, aides would check To see if it fit the list.
The article even states Biden didn’t know any of the individual names of people getting pardons.
So there’s more than enough to hang 4,000 hats on it.

Not sure how that changes the essence of what he stated.

“In an interview with The New York Times, Mr. Biden said that he had orally granted all the pardons and commutations issued at the end of his term ... “I made every decision,” Mr. Biden said in a phone interview on Thursday, asserting that he had his staff use an autopen replicating his signature on the clemency warrants because “we’re talking about a whole lot of people.”

biden did what i said he would do to end any autopen “investigations”: the former President said that he granted approval for all pardons ... period ... end of story ... nothing to investigate ...

Then why isn’t the article 1 paragraph in length? I apologize for using reading comprehension, discernment, and critical reasoning. I know better now.

Legally speaking, it does not. Biden cannot be compelled to testify and the NYT will report whatever it can to cast reasonable doubt on any claims he did not personally approve the pardons. There is also reasonable doubt that he did not know what he was doing all the time and was coached or perhaps even bypassed when convenient.

These pardons are not worth the paper they are written on.

The pardons were issued after the meeting had ended, but nowhere in the linked article is it suggested that they were issued without Biden's knowledge.

Commenting about articles without reading them wasn't nearly as common in the "old days" (my first account goes back to '99.). Or maybe it was just less obvious because those commenting on things they hadn't read were more circumspect.

Anyway, blanket pardons to a group defined by specific characteristics/acts are almost certainly constitutional even if the President doesn't know each name. Think Carter and the pardoning of draft dodgers. Not really much hope of stopping/undoing any of Biden's.
