A lovestruck US Air Force employee has pleaded guilty to conspiring to transmit confidential national defense information after sharing military secrets information about the Russia-Ukraine war with a woman he met on a dating app.
David Franklin Slater, a 64-year-old Nebraska resident and retired US Army lieutenant colonel, worked as a civilian employee of the US Air Force assigned to Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base and held a Top Secret security clearance from August 2021 to April 2022.
In this role, he attended briefings about Russia's war against Ukraine that were classified up to Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) — and signed a non-disclosure agreement stating that he understood that "negligent handling of SCI by me could cause irreparable injury to the United States or to be used to advantage by a foreign nation," according to court documents.
That didn’t stop Slater from sharing classified information with a woman who identified as a foreigner on an online dating platform.

Seems like about once a quarter there is a story about classified details of weapons systems being leaked to gaming forums by a 23 year old American, or Russian, determined to prove that they are correct in some dispute over arcane details.
After retirement, he went to work in the private sector, still in the defense field.
When asked by his new employer if he could give them information about a project they were interested in, he replied........."I could, but I won't"
The response, I'm sure, of most of folks in that position.
This guy deserves whatever punishment he gets.
“”Dear, what is shown on the screens in the special room?? It is very interesting.”
You know… I understand horny. But that should have seemed kinda “spyish” IMO.
“Wow. What an idiot. How does he live with himself?”
Well, that’s actually the upside of being an idiot. You don’t know enough to be unhappy.
It’s like a drug. Not in the physical sense, but it’s as addictive and life ruining as any other drug.
That sounds rather bloodlusty.
Who does he think he is, Eric Swallwell?
Lose his pension and a year at Leavenworth. Selling out Ukraine is no big deal. And a lifetime membership to Eharmony or Match.com to get him laid so he’ll stay quiet.
Arrest this traitor...bust him to E1 and take away his pension and benefits...then, toss the bum into GITMO for the rest of his life. What a pathetic loser.
Idiot.
“luvstruck”?? WUT, is that code for Grinder finding you an underage “partner”?
Gimme a break.
As Voltaire wrote of John Byng, “Pour encourager les autres”. The death penalty for the military isn’t a threat because we haven’t had a Commander in Chief in decades that’s had what it takes to get it done. A few executions in front of the officers corps might be educational.
For example, every follower of the Prophet that is a military officer needs to be assembled at the former Fort Hood to witness the execution of the Muslim terrorist that murdered folks there.

I knew a guy who worked for a major aircraft manufacturer, with a TS clearance, but he would never tell me what he worked on.
Long story short, he got involved with a German woman, most likely an East German spy, lost his clearance, and promptly flushed his career down the drain.
He was a smart guy, but his d*** made him do stupid things. Very sad.
Under B. Clinton clearance procedures were minimised
