Just over two weeks after the Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s ban on the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for transgender minors, the justices agreed to take up another high-profile issue involving transgender people – specifically, the constitutionality of laws that bar transgender women and girls from participating on girls’ and women’s sports teams. In a list of orders released on Thursday morning, the court granted a pair of petitions filed by Idaho and West Virginia, seeking review of lower-court rulings that barred them from enforcing such laws.
Idaho was the first state to enact such a ban in 2020. Lindsay Hecox, a transgender woman who wanted to try out for the Boise State University women’s track and cross-country teams, went to federal court in April 2020 to block the state from applying the ban to her. She argued that the Idaho law violates both Title IX, a federal civil rights law that bars sex discrimination in educational programs and activities that receive federal funding, and the Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection.
A federal district court agreed that Hecox was likely to succeed on her claims and barred the state from enforcing the law against her. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit upheld that ruling, agreeing that the law likely violates the Constitution.

Title IX of the Civil Rights Act speaks of sex discrimination. Sex means sex, not gender preference, and meant the same when the Act was passed. Unless the court is planning to declare Title IX unconstitutional, I don’t see how this is even an arguable case for the trannies.
“laws that bar transgender women and girls “
If they capture the language have they won the issue.
I submit there is no such thing as “transgender women”.
There may be “transgender persons”. But they do not fit the definition of “women”. The same with “girls” but more so.
The National Standards bodies should clearly define the words.
I consider “choice” and “decision” to be synonymous, for the most part.
I concur.
The folks in the first 2 categories are the ones I am concerned about, because the ones in the other categories are turning everyone against all trans folks.
One of the reasons there was such an explosion of individuals claiming to be trans is because the medical industry tossed the Zucker protocols out the window, ignored actual science, moved a GD diagnosis to “feelings” instead of genetics.
The people who butchered children for profit will have a lot to answer for; meanwhile, you have the .001% being maligned for a condition they did nothing to bring on or deserve.
Both the left and the right did them dirty: the left by pretending you didn’t need an underlying medical condition and the right by pretending there are no people with underlying medical conditions. A pox on both their houses.
Saying “transgender woman” is like saying “male female.”
They KNOW how UNPOPULAR this movement is so they "KILL" any NEGATIVE RESPONSE by "KILLING" ALL/ANY RESPONSE.
The L.A. Times are fully AWARE in ADVANCE of how UNPOPULAR this IDEA is to mainstream Americans, but, they're going to PERSIST in "Badgering" all of us with it under the guise that WE'RE ALL just a bunch of "Homo-Phobes."
I can already tell YOU it WON'T WORK.. WHY? Because MOST People are VERY TIRED of having this ISSUE constantly SHOVED into their FACE! That's the very reason they DO NOT ALLOW COMMENTS on Tranny Issues.
Jackson will need to accuse herself, not being a biologist.
I certainly can’t argue with that. 👍
"Polls show the transgender ideology is deeply unpopular, especially among women and parents. In 2017, former President BarackObama told NPR that his promotion of transgender ideology made it easier for Trump to win the presidency."
That was the case until 15 years ago mid-Obama and the marxist 'pubrik skrewel' -- as Rush used to say -- teachers raised them to be defiant. And "defiance" describes Willie 'Lia' Thomas inside and outside.
Justice Brown can go ahead and recuse herself, since she’s already pleaded ignorance due to lack of qualification on the subject.
The SCOTUS may rule on this case without having oral arguments.
It was the case until the Zucker protocols were abandoned in favor of “feelings”; instead of a team of specialists, including an endocrinologist, a psychiatrist, a general practioner, sometimes a neurologist, and a therapist all working to determine and counteract the underlying cause under Zucker, all someone had to do was have “the feelz” and viola! - you’re trans.
Under Zucker, it took years to get a diagnosis as trans.
Rebellion always begins in the heart. Rebellion against God’s authority was humanity’s first sin (Genesis 3) and continues to be our downfall. Our sinful natures do not want to bow to the authority of another, even God. We want to be our own bosses, and that rebellion in the human heart is the root of all sin (Romans 3:23).
