A federal judge in New York has blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to strip immigration protections from Haitians fleeing instability in their country.
The ruling Friday from U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan preserves, for now, the Biden administration’s 2024 extension of the protections, known as “temporary protected status,” for up to 500,000 Haitians living in the United States.
Cogan’s 23-page decision is the latest legal development in the administration’s efforts to roll back TPS designations and other immigration programs that allow immigrants from countries facing humanitarian crises to live and work here legally. In a separate case, the Supreme Court in May lifted a lower-court ruling and allowed the administration to revoke a Biden-era TPS designation for about 350,000 Venezuelans.

Well as of the Supreme Court ruling last week this order only applies to one Judicial District in New York, so just move them somewhere else and deport them.
I thought the supremes put an end to this nation wide injunction crap.
Is this district judge ignoring the Supreme Court and mocking the rule of law? If so, then President Trump should ignore this dem hack in a black robe.
Didn’t SCOTUS just rule that individual judges can’t do stuff like that?
Why not? SCOTUS is irrelevant.
I here the Everglades are nice.
To be overturned by SCOTUS yet again?
Yup.
Its supposed to be TEMPORARY.
Hear.
“Haitians fleeing instability in their country.”
How about the Marxist prosecutors in New York like Letitia James look into the $3.6 BILLION in Haitian relief money that New York residents the CLINTONS made disappear? It may explain the “instability”. The Haitians have been protesting it only about the last 10 or or 11 years.....
If Roberts doesn’t put an end to this nonsense, the whole judiciary will cease to be relevant, and the judiciary itself will deserve 100% of the blame.
“Is this district judge ignoring the Supreme Court “
In what way due you think the USSC is being ignored ignored?
“If Roberts doesn’t put an end to this nonsense,”
heat do you propose for him to do?
No. They did it all the way back in May.
It is congress that is not doing its job.
“It is congress that is not doing its job.”
What is it they are not doing?
That was my question as well.
More missing cats and dogs.
There’s no mention in the article about what the case was this judge was ruling on. A judge has to have a case before him before he can start issuing directives and injunctions.
He can’t just rule on something out of thin air (or at least he’s not supposed to).
Me thinks Cogan needs to check his email for recent messages and rulings . . .
