On the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationally, supporters say they are secure but also wary and watchful.
Among Republicans, support for same-sex marriage has dropped significantly — to 41 percent last month, from 55 percent in 2021, according to a Gallup poll. The finding reflects the Republican move to the right, as well as what analysts said is a spillover from rising backlash to other L.G.B.T. Q. issues — in particular, the push for transgender rights.
The Southern Baptist Convention, which is often seen as a strong indicator of conservative evangelical opinion, voted overwhelmingly earlier this month to call on the Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell, citing inspiration from the successful effort to overturn Roe. That echoed a similar call from conservative activists in states like Michigan and Tennessee. Thirty-one...

I have a homosexual son in his 50’s that lives with a long term partner. I think that for them the idea of a civil union is a good one. But marriage is between members of the opposite sex. The only reason it exists is because humans procreate sexually. And it is designed to protect the progeny it produces.
For me, it’s really just about definitions of words.
I’ve often thought that the homosexual lobby has been pushing transgender rights as a buffer zone and a distraction to keep us from addressing homosexual marriage and other issues.
Let’s not abandon our principles and our values.
We went from “we want to be left alone” to in your face like Fascists and butchering and destroying the innocence of children.
Yup, that “slippery slope” is a rocket to hell.
That there, is a problem. A tiny percentage of the populace, over-represented in Hollywood and TV, in order to cram indoctrination to the majority to sway them.
Same-sex crap should be banned from the airwaves as brainwashing lies. Marriage should be between a man and a woman in order to procreate and protect children.
Addressing homosexual marriage and other issues.
Yes sheep agree
I call them pervert supremacists.
Marriage never “belonged” to government. It was a civil and religious institution, which arose solely through social custom, private religious belief, and civil society.
And since the dawn of human civilization, marriage was defined as a private act between a man and a woman. Government conformed to civil society belief on marriage - not the other way around. This is most obviously true in Judeo-Christian societies of the last 3500 years.
Its a sign of the marxist / statist / post-modern 20th century and beyond we live in, that Government (in our case, particularly the Supreme Court) can simply declare what marriage is.
Rectal syphilis is also part of American life.
Who cares?
Whatever you think of gay marriage, the Supreme Court ruling was one of the worst ever. Kennedy rambled on in an emotional way about dignity and then declared it unconstitutional without any justification whatsoever.
NYT is part of the problem.
Sodomy is deviant behavior that goes against nature and its laws, and against God and His laws.
Yes, there are reasons for becoming a sodomite but to call it “normal” is to enable confusion and lessen the chances of confused people getting help.
The problem is the laws that FORCE this deviant behavior on society. Laws against sodomy were banned long ago. That should have been enough. But giving sodomites political power is giving deviant behavior political power which threatens a healthy society.
As I said, the NYT’s and the Left are part of the problem.
So-called “same-sex marriage”, abortion, and IVF treat children as commodities to be bought and sold.
Time to reframe the debate.
But the trend is to expand the government in everyone's lives.
We won't stop until Big Brother controls every aspect of our lives.
We are getting there.
It’s an oxymoron
Yep
Roe, roe, roe your boat!-)
You left off
Let us defile your children.
Well from my perspective it has basically saved me a lot of money I used to spend on movies, tv and concerts etc. so there is that.
