Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) praised the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, noting that politics aside, it is “appropriate” for people to celebrate.
“This parade is comprised of our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers—the very best of us,” Fetterman wrote in a post on X. “Regardless of your politics, it’s appropriate to celebrate the 250 years of sacrifice, dedication and service.”
Fetterman’s words come as leftist protesters across the nation have gathered for “No Kings” protests in contrast to President Donald Trump’s parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

Just do it John. Presley can help you reregister ss a Republican
When does he go Independant party? Pretty much meaningless as he would still vote 98% of the time with the godless, Marxists party.
I hope Fetterman has good security. Statements like that can get a Card-Carrying Socialist Democrat SHOT these days...by their OWN constituents! ;)

Usually strokes cause mind fog. Never heard of one causing some clarity. He will probably be kicked out of the dem-o-rat party.
Why are the soldiers in today’s Washington, D.C. parade marching without weapons? This marks an unprecedented moment in global military tradition — never before has a military parade anywhere in the world featured unarmed troops.
This was a birthday celebration, tool.
Go back to France and criticize what they’re doing/not doing.
You never dissociate a soldier from their weapon — ever. That connection is fundamental and sacred, no matter the circumstance. I’ve served, I’ve been a reservist for years, and I know exactly what I’m talking about.
Beyond that, I genuinely enjoyed the parade. It’s about time America had a celebration that honors its strength and spirit. But next year — our soldiers must carry their weapons. It’s not just tradition; it’s a statement of respect.
Years ago I coined the name DEMONICRATS and many on Free Republic did the same.
Skipping the race for governor and going right for the presidency, I see.
We don’t goose step , either.
I have a question: Many of the tanks and other vehicles had things which looked like clusters of tubes, maybe 3 inches or so in diameter.
Some had four (tubes), some had many.
What were those things - I’m guessing mortar tubes? But I could be wrong.

Well thank God for that !
Goose stepping (with leg up high) is typical for Russian and Communist Chinese and North Korean troops. It looks awful and exaggerated.
But a solider MUST carry his weapon. There can be zero compromise on that.

It’s smoke grenade launchers / smoke dischargers.
They are smoke grenade carriers, designed to provide obscuration for the vehicle. They are usually triggered from inside the vehicle.
cheers!
He’s probably gonna be one of the few Democrat senators or elected officials in DC to come out with a statement like that. I don’t doubt we’ll see multiple other Democrats turn it into some TDS rant
I believe his parents are staunch, life long Republicans. His wife is a Dem through and through. He may just turn her in time.
I’m really surprised that John is sane. Senator Fetterman, you surprised a lot of people.
The Fetterman identity and name occurs in the list of Revolutionary War veterans. It is hoped that the allegiance to the Declaration of Independence nay continue in that family, aswell as abiding in the principles of our Constitution.
