First lady Melania Trump, Vice President Vance, and second lady Usha Vance are also expected to attend the performance.
President Trump's attendance at the Kennedy Center's "Les Miserables" play on Wednesday is expected to include $2 million tickets and a boycott by some cast members.
The million-dollar ticket includes box-seats a reception and photo with Trump, according to the Washington Post. To attend the reception and get a photo with the president without the box seat will cost $100,000.
Some cast members are planning to boycott the show and not perform, according to CNN.
A Kennedy Center staffer told The Post the Wednesday show is the first preview, but Thursday evening is opening night.
Along with Trump, first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and second lady Usha Vance are expected to attend the performance, The Hill news outlet reported.
In February, Trump overhauled the Kennedy Center's board and named himself its chairman. He has claimed that the performing arts institution is too “woke,” and appointed his envoy for special missions Richard Grenell as its interim executive director.
Grenell criticized performers last month who would boycott, saying they should be ousted.
“Any performer who isn’t professional enough to perform for patrons of all backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, won’t be welcomed,” Grenell told The New York Times. “In fact, we think it would be important to out those vapid and intolerant artists to ensure producers know who they shouldn’t hire – and that the public knows which shows have political litmus tests to sit in the audience.”

Easily replaceable, there are many backups
Sometimes the back ups are better. Perfect time for new talent to shine!
Have the IRS do a rectal exam into their tax filings (years and years of lawyer fees). Two can play that game.
Perhaps they will get jobs traveling with Greta Thunbergs Floating on tears, The Crying Circus. The Amazing Whiners and their lackluster act, “Cry me , I’m a loser”. No Net, definitely no Elephants, just the amazing scurrying cockroaches of DC.
And wouldn’t refusal to perform constitute a violation of their contract and therefore be subject to some penalties or dismissal?
I’m guessing there are a number of understudies that are ecstatic that some of the others are looking to boycott...
“ To attend the reception and get a photo with the president without the box seat will cost $100,000.”
Not exactly a we the people event .
what I am curious about is where all the extra money will go
Republican presidents should avoid the theatre, especially when Democrats are rebelling.
And Vance should be no where near the location. In a different city.
I agree.
Quite.
Too bad John Wilkes Booth didn’t choose that option.
Agreed.
Just waiting for the soon-to-be fired actors to start go fund me campaigns when they figure out insagram likes don't pay the bills
I’m actually pissed they have Vance and Trump together.
That’s irresponsible in this era of insanity.
totally agree... heck i’ve only remember one time that the scab sucks is during 1987 NFL strikes.....
those scab games were horrible. and in the end gave redskin the superbowl win instead of who i believe would/should have won, the ny giants (whom lost all 3 replacement games and missed the playoff).
living in richmond, most of my social circles were all redskin fans..... yeah just because we live so close right?
I couldn’t stand the doug williams fever for the next few months.
