This is Jake Tapper and The New Yorker we're talking about, but if half of this report is true, then holy moly.
On Tuesday, The New Yorker published an excerpt from the CNN host's new book, and it's a doozy.
Here's the part where Joe Biden didn't remember mega-famous actor George Clooney, a man he'd met numerous times before.
I remember being told that I was a domestic extremist who peddles in harmful disinformation if I suggested that a dementia patient was running the country.

By the time the 2024 Presidential race had begun, the actor had known Biden for decades and had known him well for fifteen years. He had last seen Biden on December 4, 2022, when Clooney was in D.C. with his wife, Amal, to be celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors. Biden looked older, sure, but in the East Room of the White House, at the reception for the honorees, the President was playful and seemed cogent enough.
And yet, by 2024, Biden failed to recognize one of the most famous people on the planet, despite personally "knowing him well" for a decade and a half.
This was the President of the United States?
Me, who spent 4 years systematically reporting on the obviously visible decline of our commander-in-chief:
The problem wasn't limited to Clooney.
Clooney was certainly not the only one concerned. Other high-dollar attendees who posed for photographs with Obama and Biden described Biden as slow and almost catatonic. Though they saw pockets of clarity while watching him on television, and onstage later that night, there were obvious brain freezes and clear signs of a mental slide. It was, to some of them, terrifying.
The scary thing is that the Biden campaign only came crashing down when these high-end donors saw the truth for themselves.
All of them had been perfectly content up until that moment to accept what the TV people were telling them.
I also notice that none of them said anything after that fundraiser. Even though Clooney penned an op-ed calling for Biden to step down, they waited until it was politically expedient in the following weeks/months (in the case of this article, almost a year later).
Obama, meanwhile, was apparently confused about his old pal (if you believe Obama didn't know what was going on, I can't help you).
Obama didn't know what to make of how his former running mate was acting. At one point, in a small group of a few dozen top donors, Biden began speaking — barely audibly — and trailed off incoherently. Obama had to jump in and preside. At other moments, during photos, Obama would hop in and finish sentences for him.
Remember when Biden froze and Obama led him off the stage?
No one has been penalized or charged with dereliction of duty over this matter.
In fact, Joe's wife Jill stepped up to take official roles in meetings, despite not being elected to any office herself, and continually led her husband around by the hand.
Then there's Kamala Harris and the Cabinet - those who could invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Biden. They allowed him to stay in the most powerful political office on the planet while he continued to decline, all the while using him to sign hundreds of documents using autopen, like spoiled kids writing checks for themselves on behalf of their dying, unconscious dad.
Maybe the American people should have some answers for that.
And yet Clooney and Obama went out on the stage in Hollywood to tell people to give their $ to support Joe Biden for a second term.
What total FRAUDS! If I were one of those donors I’d be beyond pissed.
How long do colds last? I was told by the main stream media that Biden’s performance in the debate against Donald Trump was due to a cold. Did the same cold affect Joe Biden in that Democratic fundraiser with George Clooney and also the presidential debate? Come on.
It was the fact that Biden mistakenly identified him as Jerry van Dyke - star of the beloved tv series, "My Mother, the Car."

She calculatedly posted this captioned image of herself, sitting at the presidential desk on Air Force One. This is when we found out drjill is a “foreign policy expert” who was making key decisions WRT American families’ safety and security.
A few months after her demented husband took office, Jill Biden posted this image of herself on social media, sitting at a desk aboard Air Force One, looking very important. A flight jacket with the presidential seal is draped over the back of her chair, to leave no doubt about the “power behind the throne.”
“Prepping for the G7,” she captioned on her “US Government Official” account, in which a scholarly “Dr. Jill,” wearing reading glasses, pen in hand, is studying a thick ring binder of notes.
Are these classified notes? Does drjill have security clearance to view these?
As the 72-year-old wife of the oldest president in history, the effrontery of this spousal usurper on her first overseas trip was a portent of what was to come.
As her mentally bereft husband, grew increasingly befuddled, drjill stepped up her presence, doing solo campaign visits and TV appearances, weighing in on politics and polls as if it were she who is running for office.
She was even counseling her husband on Israel’s war on Hamas saying: “Stop it. Stop it now, Joe.” At a Ramadan event at the White House, Joe Biden reportedly was cued to comment on “Jill’s sophisticated geopolitical advice.”

He was gracious and funny
I also learned how to drink Scotch because he introduced me to his friend , who owned the local liquor store
Make no mistake. He did not have a stutter when I met him
Years later I took care of a friend for 6 years who had sun downers and the I met years before displayed the sane symptoms we saw regularly displayed, when he could no longer complete a thought
Jake Tapper you’re a fake. A phony. A liar. A shill. A carnival barker. Every sentient being on the planet knew Biden’s condition. But you covered for him for 4 years and would have covered him for 4 more if Biden and his criminal ‘Rat Party had cheated his way to a second term.
Get lost, Fake Jake. Nobody wants to see or hear from you ever again.
Think about it, the media knew about Biden’s decline and rather then report the biggest story in their career they covered it up! They hate our nation so much they left a vegetable in the White House while some uncollected shadow government tried to destroy our nation.
As JakeTapper sat moderating the debate he knew his career was over and it was going to be bad. This book can’t soften the crash Jake is toast.
Nothing irritates a famous Hollywood actor more than not being recognized by someone.
In all fairness to Biden, if Clooney came up to me wanting to shake my hand, I’d also act like I didn’t know him.
