Trump administration Vice President J.D. Vance announced on Tuesday that the United States and India have come to an agreement on the terms of reference for a new trade deal after the VP visited with the nation’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Both Modi and Vance declared “significant” progress in the trade negotiations and mentioned working together on energy, defense and strategic technologies.

Vance said the agreement is “built on shared priorities” such as “creating new jobs, building durable supply chains and achieving prosperity for workers.” The move signals a crucial step towards “realizing President Trump’s and Prime Minister Modi’s vision” for a deal between the two nations, the VP added.

The vice president said the Trump administration is seeking to “rebalance global trade” with ongoing tariff negotiations, claiming it “want[s] to partner with people and countries” and create “a system of global trade that is balanced, one that is open, and one that is stable and fair.”

Vance took his family on the trip to New Delhi as seen in pictures shared by Modi on social media.

So 20 days after Trump announced his new tariff regime, we already have a new, favorable trade deal with the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world. The Democrats and people in the MSM panicking over the tariffs will be eating crow by mid-summer.

World’s oldest and world’s largest democracies should advance many deals on trade, military & other issues. India population is more than 1500 million. The current party in power is capitalist. Nehru’s Congress party is all top down government controlled bureaucracy.

Don’t sleep on the panicons who infest Free Republic with their endless pearl-clutching regarding President Trump.

The many Freeper Panic-cons shouldn’t be ignored when Trump is successful.

Agreed. But if I was a young single man I might prefer a good woman from India over the Dim voting, baby killing, warmageddon cult fearing, male bashing, America hating, freedom sucking American woman.

They’re almost uniformly well behaved. They work hard. As a group earn a very high income. Their children are excellent students. Whats your big problem with them?

If you can’t compete with Indians, may be you are the problem. I worked 40+ years in main stream American manufacturing industry. I never had any competition from H1-B workers.

Indiana can compete with Americans in their own homeland of 1.5 billion Indians
We don’t need to bring them here

“I look forward to creating new opportunities for workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs in both countries,” he added. Says the US representative.

Doesn’t sound very fair to me. Trying to create new opportunities for India’s workers. It is unfair to make a US worker who is just looking for a good job to compete with a low wage Indian worker.

I sense a split between the Fair Traders/ No Traders and MAGA.
