Norovirus cases are surging across the country this winter, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data.
There were 91 outbreaks reported by state health departments during the week of Dec. 5, up from 69 in the last week of November, according to the CDC.
The highest number for the same period over the last several years was 65 outbreaks.
But the data are not comprehensive. Currently, state, local and territorial health departments are not required to report individual cases of norovirus illness to the CDC, and only 15 states participate in the National Outbreak Reporting System.

Flu season. Y’all can relax.
CDC??? LMAO!
My farts have more crediblity than those arseholes.
Many people in my mother’s nursing home have had it.
Translation;
It’s cold and flu season so let’s scare everybody into doing stupid stuff that we can use to take their money and freedom just like we do with the changing of the seasons and weather by calling it climate change.
Norovirus is largely caused by fecal to oral transmission.
improper a/o inadequate hand-washing by food handlers is the primary culprit.
Maybe if we lock everything down now, we can keep Trump from fixing the economy.
I’ve gotten it twice on cruise ships and once from a buffet. Some people seem to be more susceptible to getting it. When I check into a hotel room I sanitize everything. When I eat at a buffet I carry hand sanitizer.
It is a miserable disease to get. If people would just wash their hands thoroughly and not work when they are sick, it would not spread.
Taking bets that that changes in the coming days...
If a cruise ship returns to port with thousands of butts hanging over the edge you know they got it!
“I’ve gotten it twice on cruise ships”
I’ve heard that’s a problem. We’ve done 11 cruises and never got sick. Earlier this month it was for 14 days, and it seems there was no illness on board. (When there is, you know because the protocol in buffets, etc., changes.)
We carry spray hand sanitizer with is — basically 91% alcohol — and use it profusely. After touching handles at the buffet, after returning menus to the waiters, after using stairway handrails or pulling in/out chairs.
If I had to choose between norovirus and Covid, I’d choose Covid.
Noro virus?
The common cold. Right?
All of the nasty illegals working in restaurants, not washing their hands. Probably laughing knowing the white people are being exposed to whatever they bring back form the restroom.
You don’t know what happens in the kitchens
The NORO virus is rampant where I live - lots of illegals have been imported here.
One friend was sick for three weeks. Others have mild cases depending upon their immune system, IMO.
Wash your hands. Stay at home.

Hurry! Shut everything down! Develop a two day developed and tested vaccination! /s
My wife just recovered from a bout of this. It used to be called the ‘stomach flu’. But that was in a period that time has forgotten. Stomach flu wasn’t cheeky enough so in 2002 the powers that be renamed it the ‘norovirus’.
Typically a 24 hour delay after contact. A group of people from my office got it the Saturday and Sunday prior to Christmas from eating at the Mexican restaurant next door. No it was not from the food or Tequila.
It was not food poisoning either. Six of them went out to lunch that Friday. They did not get sick until Saturday afternoon. They remained sick through Sunday.
One out of the six did not get sick. I got it once about ten years ago from a country club office party. Party was on a Saturday night. Monday morning half of us were sick. Had it coming out both ends. We all missed work for two days. The health department shut down the country club. They cleaned it for two days. Turned out one waitress and one cook had it. So, at our table of eight all the husbands got sick. All the wives were fine. IT just depended on who handed your food/plate.
