10 Takeaways From the Night Trump Marched Back to the White House -- NY Times
NY TIMES ^ | Reporting from Madison, Wis. Nov. 6, 2024, | Reid J. Epstein

America’s democracy will again be put the test, and its government will veer sharply to the right. Kamala Harris and Democrats were dealt stunning defeats across the country.

Americans have voted former President Donald J. Trump back into the nation’s highest office four years after he fomented a riot at the Capitol to try to block his removal from power. His election is likely to again place the country’s democracy under enormous stress. For the last decade, he has demonstrated that he has little regard for the checks and balances that have defined American government since the dawn of the republic.

Now, after Mr. Trump’s defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris, the nation faces momentous changes certain to cut across political and cultural lines. Republicans demonstrated strength all over the map and up and down the ballot. They seized control of the Senate and could retain the House. Winning both would give Mr. Trump an important source of legislative power. As it was during Mr. Trump’s first term, the nation is set to be governed at the whims of a president with little interest in the details of policy.

But under the government he assembles, major issues like abortion rights, taxation, immigration and foreign policy will be pushed hard to the right, from not only legislation and executive orders but also the inevitable appointment of Trump-friendly judges and, potentially, more Supreme Court justices.

Here are 10 takeaways from an election that again upends American politics.

They don't see what's in front of their face, do they?

There is no joy in LoserVille
The mighty Dems they have struck out
They picked Kammy
Who was a double Whammy

Their troops in disarray — Never to fight another day
Their Climate Church imploded
Their heads all exploded
Lying on the ground
With no Doctor Jill around

The relative stability on domestic and international affairs during the last four years is about to be gone, replaced by a volatile president who often operates without regard to national precedent.

What NYT BS, "relative stability". Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Israel were/are major instabilities that likely would not have happened under Trump.

“fomented a riot at the Capitol to try to block his removal from power.”

The NYT will never change. But we can take pleasure in knowing that it’s readers will continue to diminish.

America’s democracy will again be put the test...

Remember: replace "democracy" with "bureaucracy," and it will make more sense.

The schnorrer at the Nyet shoots himself with his own bullet point:

"The recriminations of Ms. Harris’s poor showing will be swift for President Biden, who despite his legislative accomplishments remained unpopular with voters. Americans widely judged him too old for a second term and saw him as a poor steward of the economy and the country’s southern border."

There are two things that Democrats and the liberal media can learn from this election.

#1 - All publicity is good publicity.

The constant legal harassment of Trump by Biden and his administration, and by the Democrat controlled states kept Trump’s name in the news on a daily basis for the past 4 years... Thanks for all that publicity.

And... #2 - Everybody loves an underdog.

The media and their constant harassment of Trump made him the ultimate underdog... Thank you to the MSM for being obsessed with your hatred for Donald Trump. You made him an underdog worth voting for.

That is a sparkling gem of a line. I wish I had come up with it.

In other words: elections have consequences and the people get to change the policies of the deep state. Oh, I forgot: that is a threat to democracy.

Where are the missing 18m Dem voters?

How are Dems ahead in the Michigan Senate race?

Why when Dems win races they get to tell McCain, “You lost.” But Republicans are supposed to govern from the center and be conciliatory?

Who were the 51 Deep Staters who signed Hunter’s laptop was a Russian fake?

Lots of questions do remain. NYT isn’t asking them.
