Members of the audience at a town hall glowered as former President Donald Trump described January 6 as a 'day of love' and tried to minimize the seriousness of the violent clash at the Capitol.
Questioner Ramiro Gonzalez, a Republican construction worker from Tampa, said he wanted to give Trump 'the opportunity to try and win back my vote,' then issued a series of blunt statements during the Univision town hall this week...
The Kamala Harris campaign later posted about it on X, in a post that zooms in on the puzzled expressions of audience members during the broadcast by the Spanish language network...
'You waited so long to take action while your supporters were attacking the Capitol,' Gonzalez asked him...
[Trump replied] 'They thought the election was a rigged election and that’s why they came. Some of those people went down to the Capitol. I said, "peacefully and patriotically," nothing done wrong – at all,' he continued.
'Nothing done wrong. And action was taken – strong action. Ashli Babbitt was killed, nobody was killed,' Trump said, as a camera panned the audience.
One woman in a striped shirt winced and shook her head at that comment, while two other women stared ahead.
'There were no guns down there, we didn’t have guns. The others had guns, but we didn’t have guns. When I say ‘we,’ these are people that walked down, this was a tiny percentage of the overall.'
'This was a tiny percentage of the overall – which nobody sees and nobody shows. But that was a day of love of the standpoing of the millions - it's like hundreds of thousands, ' Trump said. He called it 'the largest group I've ever spoken to before.'

I think it's good that Trump is standing up for the 1/6 protestors.
The DM implies that his "supporters" are upset that he stood up for the 1/6 protestors.
Gee I remember when the left called the BLM riots “The summer of love” didnt see anyone outraged..seriously NO ONE with a functioning brain gives a sh*t about Jan 6th
People who are upset about J6 and think it was violent aren’t Trump voters anyway. They are the kinds of idiots that believe BLM riots were peaceful and justified. Trump is never going to win those kinds of people over. Far better to defend J6.
Mostly peaceful blm gatherings to ‘celebrate’ G Floyd.
They’re burning down the white house J6 rebels as Trump commanded them to!!!!!
Yeah, otay lil’ idiots!
He’s hitting some talking points, but he should have a very simple message
- it was peaceful until some Capitol police started firing tear-gas into the crowd
- Under-cover Fed agents provacateurs were out in full force, organizing events and coaxing followers into the Capitol
- He called for National Guard help, which was purposely delayed by Pelosi and Milly
- The only weapons confiscated from protestors were nail clippers and Swiss Army knives.
Jan 6th 9s a false flag operation that the Dems are trying to cash in on now.
America could care less. But they should care because what was done by Pelosi, The FBI, Capitol Police was treason.
Ramiro deserves to live in a country ruled by someone like CommieLa. Just not our country.
Gonzales an obvious Harris plant
Bullshit headline from Murdoch’s DailyMail. There was nothing of the sort what the headline says.
Oh well. Some people want to remain oblivious to what really happened that day. Fortunately most people aren’t buying the MSM/DNC version of events.
Yeah? How many of them were there? I mean, how many of them went there to hear POTUS speak, to lead, to encourage — not how many of them were there to agitate and corrupt. All of the former remember it as a day of love, of patriotism, of all the hope and promise of America, until the assholes showed up at the capitol.
The Malaka camp will try to capitalize on this (what else can they do) playing endlessly in their ads. The problem is no one’s going to change their minds over this 3 weeks before the election. The demographic that would normally respond to this are already maxed out and voting for Malaka.
Univision? I think I see the problem.
“They are the kinds of idiots that believe BLM riots were peaceful and justified.”
Tim Walz said something like “This was a week that began with the murder of an innocent man and then a show of justified anger by community leaders and citizens with a conscience.”
I was outraged.
This country’s constitution requires peaceful assembly.
If it were not for FBI infiltrators January 6 would most likely have remained absolutely peaceful.
Even with the FBI assistance January 6 went off with relatively little damage (compared to the BLM riots) and only two deaths attributable to Capitol Police.
75% of the country now doesn’t even understand the House or the Senate and what their purpose is. Jan 6th never got the political traction the left and the media thought it would...total non issue.
one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen is all the Congressmen fleeing, hiding in offices, running to bomb shelters, crouching in the gallery like they were under artillery fire.
All of them, Repub and Dem.
Not a single one had the backbone to walk out and greet the crowd and talk with them.
Not. A. Single. One.
When a cop rounds the corner, and someone immediately flees... you know that is someone who knows they did something wrong. They assume the cop is coming for them.
THAT is our Congress. When the people came in the door, their guilt sent them into sheer terror.
“The questioner thanked Trump and said he would appreciate an answer, after asking about ‘your action and maybe your inaction during your presidency and the last few years.’
‘You waited so long to take action while your supporters were attacking the Capitol,’ Gonzalez asked him.”
Lies and an obvious bias. Just another of the moron crowd.
I know I don’t.
Small d democrats aren't afraid of the people.
Tyrants are afraid of the people.
