Rumors, misinformation and lies about the federal government’s response to Hurricane Helene in the southeastern United States have run rampant since the storm made landfall, especially around funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The claims have become so widespread that FEMA set up a response page to debunk many falsehoods around how disaster funding works and what the agency’s response has been.
As of Sunday, FEMA says it has provided more than $137 million in assistance to six states in the southeast, including 7,000 federal personnel, nearly 15 million meals, 14 million liters of water, 157 generators and more than half a million tarps. Politics In many instances the disaster response to Helene has been politicized The agency also says more than 3,000 North Carolina residents have been rescued or supported by more than 1,200 urban search and rescue personnel, with recovery efforts aided by National Guard and active duty troops. North Carolina has also received $100 million in federal transportation funds to rebuild roads and bridges washed out by the storm.
Republicans, especially former President Donald Trump, have sought to wield the storm as a political tool against Vice President Harris with less than a month to go before Election Day. Trump has repeatedly attacked Harris and President Biden as doing a “bad job” handling the storm’s aftermath without specifics, instead using misleading math to complain about immigration and foreign aid.
“They’re offering them $750 to people whose homes have been washed away,” Trump said Saturday at a rally in Butler, Pa. “And yet we send tens of billions of dollars to foreign countries that most people have never heard of. They’re offering them $750. They’ve been destroyed. These people have been destroyed.”

And to be truthful, the greed of leftists is a subjective basis for their decisions, not an objective one.

There is video of a National Guard helicopter hovering over the supplies and spreading them all over the place from the blades. When he was satisfied, he left.

NPR must have worked overtime for many hours to research this nonsense.

Prior to the 2020 election, NPR didn’t acknowledge the existence of Hunter’s laptop.
NPR is 54 years old.
Thank the GOP.

Trying to make sense of what I’m seeing these days, isn’t easy.
I don’t know some of these people making anti-government
claims, but on the other hand, I can see. That black
helicopter over the relief supplies, blowing things around,
that wasn’t a kindly gesture.
It’s pretty clear this government is not trustworthy,
and even if Trump does make it back in, they are probably
going to try to make him look bad too.
He’s still in it to win it. I gotta tell ya he’s actually
putting everything on the line for this.
That’s far beyond what anyone else is doing, expect for
Vance, Musk, and a few others who have put their necks on
the line too now.
We should certainly be praying for these folks.

Article said as of Sunday, this government help was available. They’re supporting Harris-Biden regime by saying they provided help 2 weeks later?! I’m guessing there are millions more silent Trump voters out there, than they realize.

The main story at the link, which said Katrina changed the way the military responded to disasters, has been archived and the wayback machine can't find it either. But this chart said there were 60,000 military forces on the ground by September 7th, which was 8 days after Katrina.

And congress is going to increase their funding.

“137 million to storm victims,
150.7 BILLION on illegals”
If we would say “thousand million” instead of billion, it would have more impact Too many people hear billion and just like a bicycle has two wheels think of it as 2 million.
To: ransomnote
October 1 was the start of a new budget year. FEMA should be flush with money. The song and dance should be epic.
To: xxqqzz
The left is pushing hard to say NO FEMA money went to illegals.
The truth must be available somewhere

I simply don’t believe what either the government or its propaganda organs in the media say. In this particular case, too many people on YouTube, with no ax to grind but the truth, are saying almost the exact opposite of this garbage that NPR is spewing.
