JD Vance vows ‘compassionate’ border policies if he and Trump are elected
The New York Post ^ | 09/28/2024 | Jon Levine

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance promised a compassionate US border approach should he be elected in November with former President Trump at the top of the ticket.

“The Trump-Vance approach to the border is the way to maximize compassion, not just for our citizens, but for everybody,” the Ohio senator, 40, told a Christian forum outside Pittsburgh Saturday.

“Border policy is compassionate, and I think that Republicans have to remind people that.”

Vance faced questions from the audience about what the Christian approach to the migrant crisis should be — and leaned into the issue of protecting children.

“Right now in the United States, we have about 320,000 children that we have lost track of. Now, these are children, many of whom have been para trafficked by drug traffickers, or, God forbid, even sex traffickers,” he said.

“The Democrats, meaning Kamala Harris, wants to tell you that the compassionate thing is to have a wide-open border. I think those 320,000 missing children would beg to differ. The compassionate thing is to control our border, find those children and punish the criminals mistreating them,” Vance continued. ***

“I have friends who say it’s compassionate to let them in,” said Laura Smith, a minister from Monroeville. “What about the compassion for our own?”

In addition to a border crackdown, Trump and Vance have promised to deport as many as 20 million illegal immigrants already living in the United States. The Department of Homeland Security estimates the number is closer to 11 million.

Vance told ABC last month that the plan would scale up and that initially they would “start with 1 million.” ***

For each illegal employee, every employer/corporate officer should be fined a million dollars and sentenced to a year incarceration. The self-deportation would be epic

Reminds me of Bush 1’s promise of “a kinder, gentler nation.”

Not a good sign.

We wouldn't need a wall if current immigration laws were enforced. Massive workplace enforcement and a compassionate return of illegals back to their country of origin, never to have the permission to enter the US ever again.

The lack of workplace enforcement is evident regardless of who is elected, they simply won't do it. Especially now, the articles always scream who will do disaster work and construction.

JD Vance is just saying that having a border and protecting it IS the compassionate thing to do. It’s not compassionate to aid and abet child traffickers. The article didn’t say that he said an additional thing: it’s not compassionate to let the cartels control who gets in and rape women as part of the cost. For being a champion of women Kamala sure isn’t too bothered about the rape trees. Or about the women raped and killed by the criminals she’s letting g in.

<< The Department of Homeland Security estimates the number is closer to 11 million. >>

Laughable propaganda. Around 11 million have come only in the past 4 years. The overall number is closer to 40 mil. Hope Trump compassionately deports every last one. And to make the job much easier, cut off all the welfare freebies and watch many millions self-deport.

Absolutely, utterly stupid thing to say.

There is no way to wiggle out of it.

The Christian thing to do is to protect the American citizen from the economic destruction of the hordes and the rape, murder, and pillage of the demonic criminals Harris has imported.

Why is it that people think that applying Christianity means to cut off your balls?

How about compassion for the Americans devastated by the imported criminal class including murderers and rapists?

More than 13,000 immigrants convicted of homicide — either in the United States or abroad — are living outside of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention, according to data ICE provided to Congress earlier this week.

As of July of this year, according to the data provided by ICE to Rep. Gonzales, over 435,719 convicted criminal immigrants were on ICE’s non-detained docket.

Compassion for US Citizens is a must.

I somehow doubt that was his intent, but I’m willing to
scoff and listen.

“Compassionate” is throwing EVERY illegal over the border and cleaning out every last gang member from the US. Extra compassion points will be given if the gangs are cleaned out of Mexico to a depth of about 400 miles south of the border.

Not to mention the billions of dollars of drug traffic that an open border promotes.

I'm not sure if Vance shares your definition of "compassionate." I fear he was signaling the opposite.

Trying to win some Dreamer voters.

A longtime RINO strategy, which always fails.

The Democrats will always outbid Republicans on certain issues, such as free stuff for illegal immigrants.

It's as if people didn't even bother to read the article. Much less listen to any of Vance's speeches, or answers to questions.

The first thing we will do is close the border and stop the bleeding. Then we will begin the kicking the illegals out, starting with the known criminals.

And yes - shutting down the border is the compassionate thing to do - for those trying to enter our country illegally. (I wonder how many die on the way to the USA, and/or die in the desert SW USA?). Vance IIRC has also spoken about getting Mexico to honor their commitment to strengthen Mexico's SOUTHERN border to keep all of the central American people from getting to the USA.

The lockdown bumpstock banner had more power in his first term. He has explicitly stated he will increase “skilled immigrants”.
They already replaced the lower classes. We are next. Trump is already saying yes to replacing your college degree job with anyone but Americans.
The uniparty globalists will replace you.
He will be a lame duck. He as scared of fauci and big pharma, so they ran our country under him. The left will create more danger, like another plandemic. He will rubber stamp and completely their agenda just like he did.
But he might get us out of Syria…. No wait, he didn’t end any war. But at least he didn’t start one.
There is no way n the universe he and Elon will be able to redline the administrative state.

Just saw the clip and JD described the empathy as “with first duty to the people of your own country”.

Democrats are the party of slavery. This is their slavery.. they will never stop and the Republican Party will keep funding it.
The great American experiment died during Covid. It’s not coming back. Nor should it as we are the umber one nation of importing trafficked children in the world. Okeefe media showed children being trafficked in San Diego.. which has a lot of military retirees. Did anyone shut that down.
