A series of explosions were reported in the Dahieh area of Beirut on Tuesday afternoon, leaving many injured.
According to Lebanese reports, dozens of people were killed in the explosions.
Later reports said that "dozens" of simultaneous explosions took place in Syria as well, when beepers worn by Hezbollah terrorists exploded.
Dahieh is known as a Hezbollah stronghold.
According to Sky News, encrypted communications equipment used by Hezbollah for internal messaging exploded. Reuters reported that Hezbollah only began using the beeper devices in question within the last few months; Al-Hadath reported similarly.
Arabic media reports that over 3,000 individuals were injured at several separate locations. In Damascus, Syria, a vehicle containing a communication device exploded when the device detonated.
According to Sabereen News, a diplomatic figure in Lebanon was among those injured in the explosions. Other reports said that the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon was among those injured. It is not clear if this is the "diplomatic figure" referred to in the Sabereen News report.

Mossad had intel on the pagers and they likely intercepted the shipment, either replacing them or modifying them.
Regardless, it’s the only way based upon what I’ve read. “Overheated batteries”??? C’mon, man.

my own theory is that Mossad intercepted the pager order on its way from the factory to Hezbollah central, inserted the explosive, planted modified firmware, and then repackaged everything and sent it on its way ...

What Hezbollah doesn’t know is that, it was an inside job.

I saw another story that said they suffered injuries to their groins because the pagers were in their pockets or on their belts. Gee, such a shame.....

yes, i heard that as well. the batteries wouldn’t give enough of a punch to take anyone out.
prolly also tied it to a circuit that would trigger when the pager received a certain phrase, not just any message. this would’ve allowed them to wait until they were handed out then send the message to all the numbers they knew.... which is how pagers work.
anyone that wasn’t on the list to call wouldn’t receive the message and therefore wouldn’t explode.
