This reporting and article on the longshore meeting was very interesting to me. Some things I really hadn’t considered. It’s a fine line between acknowledging the value of technology and also the human element. But in the past so many of the unions greed and corruption have gotten in the way of good intentions.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON”T SMOKE!!

I started smoking at 18 (had friends that smoked and I guess I just wanted to belong.)

In my 40's, I wanted to quit, just couldn't figure out how.

My 'body'/subconscious took care of it for me. At 48, I had a little heart attack, and after 3 days in ICU I was able to kick the habit!

Of course unfortunately, it put me in the medical/government claws of prescription meds. Hate that part.

I am in the process of getting clearance (anesthesia tolerance) for a total knee replacement.
I probably could get along for a longer while via cortisone or gel...but I play so much golf, it overrides the effects of the cortisone or gel.
I wont give up golf, so hence the knee replacement. (before i get too old where they wont do the surgery)

Too much repetition moving all(most)of my weight to my left leg during the golf swing.
My knee doesn’t hold up.
Too much bone on bone.

I just bought an electric foot-pedaler for my better angel.
It moves your feet\legs for you (no effort) or you can do it manually.(effort)

Other than that, I got no kicks.

I did not know that about smoking. I thought the results were bad breath, stained teeth, COPD, and, oh yes!, lung cancer. I did not know that it damaged you sufficiently that anethesia is counterindicated (or what that word is).

Basically, we need to realize that everything we type, post, or send can be listened to by someone else. Signal isn’t secure. It can be hacked. Everything can be hacked eventually. I’m glad I’m dull, boring, and hopelessly old-fashioned.

In Greek history there is the story of King Midas, of the golden touch fame. The moral of the latter part of the story is that if you need to keep a secret, never, ever repeat to anyone, not even a hole in the ground.

Again, if you have a secret, do not write it down, do not confide it in anyone, and don’t speak of it ever even if there is no one else (that you know of) about.
