Boy, do I understand what you are going through.
I had the very same issues when my Dad started to
fall alot.
When I was a Medical Tech, my facility was both a nursing hone
on one side, and a Rehab (Physical Therapy) on the other.
P.S. You cam also have nurses aides come
in to stay with him part of the day, to cook
and clean, and help in very many ways.
We did this with my Dad for awhile, and he surprisingly
came to look forward to her visits!
Keep in mind though, that he would probably need to be evaluated
and need a Doctor referral to be admitted.
That opens up a huge Pandora’s box, so be ready for that.
If you have siblings, talk it over with them first!
I had some difficulty convincing my brother that Pop
should not live alone anymore.
I have to high tail it to the Pharmacy before the weather
takes a bad turn.

So today, we went to the facillity that he’s had experience with, his dad and his wife, in the past. But before we did that he told me he had second thoughts because he really likes the house where he is. He has it laid out exactly the way he likes it.
Then, he said he ought to at least look and see what’s available. So off we went. At that place a nice lady came out and told us what the process is and gave us an admittance packet. I was not surprised that we’d need a doctor’s reference. You reinforced that as well. The doc has been telling him he will need to move into such a facillity so I don’t think that will be a difficulty.
But, while there, they had information about a related service which has single rooms, bedroom & living quarters, and two-bedroom apartments. It has outside areas, a nice wooded walking trail. Since the apartments have kitchens with them, he could cook when he wishes.
It had started raining/pouring and we didn’t stop to tour that place. Even so, Dad liked what he saw.
Neither has anything available today. Also, this is such a big decision for him that I am not going to push him. Frankly, I want Dad to do exactly what he wants to do, not necessarily what is best for him. I would rather he fall doing what he pleases than sit around and be bored and bitter even if that extends his life. Everybody dies. It is better to die happy.

If your dad is still pretty independent I think he would like a place like this over a nursing home. I hope you can take him back to tour it.
I have said before my husbands BIL resisted but his daughter finally got him to give it a try for a least a year before he sold his house. He absolutely loved being there. He was a people person and he was then able to socialize a lot.
I know of a few people up here that had the same experience.
Older relatives that fought tooth and nail about leaving their homes (understandably) even though they lived alone, and had to rely on people coming in to help them. Though against the move, once they went into a comfortable facility, with good meals prepared for them, lots of people who played cards, watched movies, played games, had music nights, etc., etc.....they quickly enjoyed their days with company and entertainment.
I hope your dad will experience much the same, Jemian. I think you have a great attitude though....everyone dies, best to die doing and living how you like.

Betcha Don Jr had something to do with that since he moved on to another chick.
I have to admit that I’ve never been a fan of Guilfoyle, right back to the days of watching her cleavage and her bouncing leg on The Five. I dove for the remote to mute her every time she came on to speak, and the black eyes and giant lips were just too much. I’m not surprised Don Jr. moved on, but that is too bad for Kimberley and all of the kids. Her son and his kids were very close.....it’s just not right to repeatedly do that to families. All in all, it seems Don Jr. needs to grow up.
