Everybody in Florida wear shorts in the winter, but not in Maine, which is where that sign is on the map. Those people are tough.

The people of Israel suffered a couple of multigenerational exiles before they were able to get (back) to the promised land. I hope that does not happen to us

You are right.

The Book of Habakkuk ends with these words:

Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
GOD, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me tread on my high places.

I pray for mercy that we repent before having to endure those generations of discipline. Maranatha!

hi Rusty!!!

Off hand I don’t remember seeing one like that. Norsky has much better political memes than I have. I just have food and cats, hardly useful in an election year

if you have a background picture and what you want to have printed over the picture, I can create one

Redbone was a Native American Rock Band

Redbone was formed in the late 1960s by two Native American brothers, Pat and Lolly Vegas. The band quickly gained attention with their unique blend of rock music and Native American elements. The name “Redbone” was also derived from a term in Native American culture, often used to refer to individuals of Native American descent from various tribes.

One of Redbone’s most famous hits is “Come and Get Your Love,” released in 1974. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became an icon of the 1970s. Redbone is also known for other songs such as “Wounded Knee,” “The Witch Queen of New Orleans,” and “Maggie.”

Redbone not only achieved success in the music industry but also became a cultural and historical icon of Native Americans in the music industry. Despite several changes in band members over the years, their legacy continues to be honored and appreciated in the music community.

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward’s meeting on the set of ‘The Long, Hot Summer’ marked the beginning of a bond that would last for over fifty years. Their love story wasn’t typical of Hollywood, where relationships often struggle under public scrutiny. Despite Paul being married when they first met, their connection was undeniable, and eventually, they built a life together that would become one of Hollywood’s longest-lasting marriages. Their relationship was not just about romance; it was a partnership built on respect, support, and shared values that allowed them to navigate the ups and downs of life in the public eye.

Their marriage, which began in 1958, endured challenges that come with fame, such as constant media attention and rumors. Paul and Joanne stood by each other, maintaining a strong bond that set them apart in Hollywood. They often spoke of how they balanced their relationship with their careers. Joanne once said that they had “different strengths,” which allowed them to complement each other. While they had their disagreements, as all couples do, they always found a way to work through them with mutual respect. Paul famously referred to Joanne as the reason for his grounded nature, and she admired his humility despite his immense success.

Both Paul and Joanne had remarkable careers. Paul achieved major success as an actor, starring in iconic films like ‘Cool Hand Luke’, ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’, and ‘The Verdict’. Beyond acting, he directed several films and became a professional race car driver, adding yet another dimension to his career. Joanne, equally accomplished, won an Academy Award for ‘The Three Faces of Eve’ and earned respect for her work in both film and theater. They always supported each other’s work, never allowing their individual success to overshadow their partnership. Their mutual respect for each other’s talents helped them maintain a balanced relationship in an industry known for its competitiveness.

Family played a crucial role in Paul and Joanne’s lives. Together, they had three daughters—Elinor “Nell” Newman, Melissa “Lissy” Newman, and Claire Olivia Newman. Nell pursued a career in environmentalism, co-founding ‘Newman’s Own Organics’, continuing the philanthropic legacy started by her father. Lissy became an actress and singer, while Claire worked behind the scenes in the film industry. Despite the fame surrounding their parents, Paul and Joanne ensured that their children grew up with a sense of normalcy, away from the glitz of Hollywood. Paul also had three children from his previous marriage to Jackie Witte—Scott, Susan, and Stephanie. Tragically, Scott passed away in 1978, which deeply affected Paul. In response, he founded the ‘Scott Newman Center’, dedicated to drug prevention, demonstrating his commitment to helping others while honoring his son’s memory.

Throughout their marriage, Paul and Joanne faced many of the same challenges that any couple might—balancing careers, raising children, and handling personal grief. The added pressure of public life, however, often made things more complicated. Yet, they always managed to prioritize their relationship and family. Paul’s humility was a trait that Joanne often admired, and despite his fame, he remained down-to-earth, attributing much of his personal fulfillment to his relationship with Joanne. Similarly, Joanne found strength in Paul’s presence and support, acknowledging that they faced difficult times but always worked through them together.

One of the defining aspects of Paul and Joanne’s relationship was their shared commitment to giving back. Paul founded ‘Newman’s Own’, a food company that donates all its profits to charity. To date, the company has raised millions for various charitable causes, showing how Paul and Joanne used their platform for the greater good. Their dedication to philanthropy extended beyond financial contributions, as they were both actively involved in numerous causes throughout their lives.

Their partnership is remembered not just for its longevity but for its depth. They were not only husband and wife but also best friends who faced life’s challenges together. The home they built with their children was their sanctuary, where they could be themselves away from the pressures of Hollywood. Despite their individual successes, it was their life together that remained their priority. Paul once said that Joanne kept him “from becoming too full of himself,” emphasizing how essential she was to his personal growth.

Paul and Joanne’s love story continues to inspire, not because it was perfect, but because it was real. They faced struggles, worked through them, and remained devoted to each other. Their bond wasn’t just about romance but about building a life together based on trust, respect, and shared values. Even after Paul’s passing in 2008, Joanne continued to speak of him with love and admiration, a testament to the strength of their partnership.

This is an excellent interview Trump did with Dr. Phil 4 days ago. This is how I like to hear him much more than the rallies.

LOL

I remember our year and a half in Corpus Christi. The only time I wore a coat when I took my son to hockey practice. Best winters ever, T-shirts and shorts. But then came summer!
