Am I The Only One – Aaron Lewis
Another beautiful day here. I’m out on my back deck waiting for the last little bit of sun to go behind the building -making it drop down temperature wise considerably.
Last week finally purchased another rice cooker. My original one that I had almost 20 years was in the van that was stolen. It was a gift from my brother. I was with him when he purchased it at the Asian grocery store in Oklahoma City. I’m not sure I ever used it correctly because everything was in Chinese. At least I think it was Chinese. But I cranked a lot of good meals out of it.
Today made a full pot of jasmine rice, which I will bag up and freeze
got our first meal of stirfry rice , for me heavy vegetables
For son light vegetables, and shrimp
going tomorrow to Lake Norman for my preop for my eye surgery. Next Tuesday cataract right eye. Will have lunch w cousin Billy afterward.
So far today have not misplaced my phone or my glasses. I’m pretty proud of myself. But the days isn’t over yet.
Is this sorta like Ginger snaps? I love them. Never made them

Jeff and I just had a bowl of ice cream. I’m really liking the Tallamook brand. I’ve loved and used their cheese for years. Ben and Jerry’s are on the hateful lib product list. Not sure about others. I’ve liked Hershey ice cream
What’s your favorite brand? Know there are a lot of regional brands. Braums in OK &!Texas , Handles in Ohio,
Both of us have lactose issues so take a Lactaid tablet pre indulging. Cheese doesn’t bother either of us and neither of us drinks milk
Culinary Corner
(Will be sharing in weeks ahead more ideas for holiday dinners—Thanksgiving and Christmas. Other day was cranberry/cherry relish)
Today — No bake pumpkin pie
Ingredients :
2 cups canned pumpkin
1/2 cup sugar
8 ounces cream cheese softened
2 8-ounce containers of Cool Whip or other whipped cream
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 3.4-ounce box instant vanilla pudding
1 cup milk
2 pre made 9-inch graham cracker crusts
HOW TO MAKE THIS NO-BAKE PUMPKIN PIE RECIPE
STEP ONE:
Set out your graham cracker crusts so they’re ready for the filling.
STEP TWO:
For the bottom layer, add cream cheese, sugar, and one 8-ounce tub of whipped cream in a separate bowl and blend well with a hand mixer. Fill your pre-made crusts with this layer evenly.
STEP THREE:
Next, mix pudding and milk and stir until thick. Add 2 cups of canned pumpkin. Add pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Stir until blended. Put this on top of the cream cheese layer.
STEP FOUR:
For the top layer, use the second 8-ounce container of Cool Whip to top the pies. I suggest sprinkling a little pumpkin spice on top.
You’ll have extra whipped cream to either cover the top of each pie or use on something else. You can also make one deep pie in a springform pan.😀

Tillamook is great stuff - it’s higher fat than most other brands, so is extra rich. I always love vanilla bean.

Chill liner of Donvier Ice Cream maker for 24-hours in freezer
1 liter heavy cream
4 egg yokes
6 - 8 packages of Tropicana Slim Stevia (available in Indonesia)
enough vanilla to satisfy
Combine ingredients
Place mixture in microwave and heat for two minutes
Take out and stir
Return to microwave and heat for another two minutes
Place in refrigerator until the mixture is cold.
The inside part of the Donvier ice cream maker should have been in the freezer for 24-hours previous.
Assemble the Donvier Ice Cream Maker. Do this quickly.
Immediately take ice cream mixture out of refrigerator and pour into maker. Follow the Donvier instructions for churning.
Requires no ice, just turn the top handle 1.5 turns every so often. Twenty minutes later, you'll have fantastic ice cream.
