The Grok chatbot on the X social media platform has been updated following a letter sent to platform owner Elon Musk from five secretaries of state demanding he make changes over false election information.

Democrat Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon announced the change Monday, after he had been informed of the change by the social media company last week.

Simon, along with four other secretaries of state, sent a letter earlier this month to Musk claiming their combined "37 million constituents were recently impacted by false information" Grok provided about the election.

The AI chatbot will direct users who enter election-related terms into their inquiry to vote.gov for more information and resources.

A totally worthless story that refers to “false information” about ten times, but never once says what the information was that was supposedly false.

350 million constituents were mislead by 51 “former intelligence agents” and every Mockingbird Media “news” outlet about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Not one of these hack Sec. States complained about that.

"...refers to “false information” about ten times..."

Yep...
Probably the "bad" info mentioned the former Constitution, Harris's swallow issues, or the rumor of a Trump assassination attempt...

All of which are clearly harmful and illegal...

That’s the grift. Media does it, too. Constantly getting exercised about some supposedly “racist,” “sexist” or “offensive” remark that someone supposedly said without any specifics. Same grift. Different hat on.

Why grok? Grok’s name is believed to have originated from Robert A. Heinlein’s 1961 science fiction novel “Stranger in a Strange Land,” in which the main character, a Martian, uses the term “grok” to convey a profound and intuitive understanding of something.

Grok means to understand so thoroughly that the observer becomes a part of the observed – to merge, blend, intermarry, lose identity in group experience. It means almost everything that we mean by religion, philosophy, and science and it means as little to us as color does to a blind man.

The term is actually Grok in fullness.
[common; from the novel Stranger in a Strange Land, by Robert A. Heinlein, where it is a Martian word meaning literally 'to drink' and metaphorically 'to be one with'] The emphatic form is grok in fullness. 1. To understand. Connotes intimate and exhaustive knowledge.
It reminds me of "Eating Raoul"
Duke, the man responsible for keeping all of the technology in Jubal's house in working order, privately expresses his discomfort with Mike to Jubal. Duke is offended by the cannibalism implicit in Mike's desire to eat Jubal's corpse when he dies. Duke says he will not eat at the same table as Mike anymore. Jubal is angered by Duke's provincialism and prejudice, and fires him.

Duke tells Jubal that he does not believe that Mike is dangerous. Jubal argues that Mike is neither as savage nor as harmless as Duke is reductively assuming him to be.

You've got to read the book to grok what's in it.

Grokking also implies a deeply intuitive understanding that transcends logical or analytical thinking.

So, in a way, it means more than just learning more deeply about something. It addresses the fundamental difference between knowledge and understanding.

I think that twilight of difference is probably why Musk picked that name. It implies conscious awareness.

Musk’s objective with Ai is to understand the nature of reality.

So the government has a monopoly on truth?

No the people decide that and not the government.
