Vance is one of the least popular vice-presidential picks this century.
It's important to make a good first impression — whether you're on a first date, interviewing for a job or running to be vice president of the United States. And the two men who recently joined the Republican and Democratic presidential tickets have made very different first impressions.
According to 538's new polling average of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's favorable and unfavorable ratings, the Democratic candidate for vice president has an unusual quality for a modern politician: He's well liked. As of Aug. 15 at 1 p.m. Eastern, 38 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of him, and 33 percent have an unfavorable opinion of him.
Democrats' initial branding of Walz — as a paternal former teacher, coach and National Guardsman — seems to have caught on, especially immediately after he was announced as Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate, when multiple polls found him with a double-digit positive net favorability rating (favorable rating minus unfavorable rating). Since then, his unfavorable rating has risen a bit faster than his favorable rating as Republicans have accused him of exaggerating his military service, but he still has a solid +5-point net favorability rating on average.
By contrast, Americans aren't vibing with the Republican vice-presidential nominee. On average, only 33 percent have a favorable opinion of Sen. JD Vance, while 42 percent have an unfavorable one.

“Trump should have picked Tulsi”
He didn’t and there were lots of people here trashing her. Everyone had their favorite it seems. I’m cool with Vance.
Back then, SNL had a wide audience and could do some damage - when they decided to use their show to destroy Palin, they sold their souls and that was the end of SNL’s wide audience.
Today, no decent human being watches that garbage.

On Megyn Kelly's show awhile ago is above. At about the 9 minute mark Megyn reads from an article written by liberals that had researched the dwindling number of children, and how careers, money, etc. had become more important than children, and that this was wrong and they talk about how fulfilling having children is. She quotes something like “So the philosophical question regarding children - is life worth living?”
I really like how Vance doesn't shy away from his statements, but doubles down on them and explains them. And in other interviews, when asked “gotcha” questions he will rebuke the reporter, and then STILL answers the question in a logical and explaining manner.
....Careers, money, and let’s not forget travel. Travel, travel travel! The most expensive and overrated golden calf of the cultural and moral desert of modern life.
“And where are YOU going this year?”
“Well we’ve already gone bungee jumping in Borneo, kayaking in Katmandu, tangoing in Tangiers. I dunno, maybe we’ll try decathloning in Dagistan. Our neighbors recommended it”.
“I gained 25 pounds during lockdown. I was just DYING to take a trip somewhere. So of course I got the jab. Got breakthrough COVID on the way home, though.”
One of my clients is 50-something and married to a gal in the medical profession. Twice a year they go on “adventure” trips - as well as other vacations. Antarctica, Morocco, sailing throughout Fiji, etc.
It would be cool to have some of those adventures, but having children (they don’t have any) is the biggest adventure ever.
They are all adults now, and I’m always surprised at some of the stuff they remember from their childhood. The everyday, little stuff. And of course when they say something nice to me that makes it all worthwhile.
“I was just DYING to take a trip somewhere. So of course I got the jab.”
Funny - I was just looking at an old project file and some photos that I took. My son was able to help me - and there was a photo of him out in the woods.
Looking at that photo I recalled how good it felt to be out in the woods working. It was July, 2020 and work had been really slow, and we were all pretty isolated. Hard to believe that was just 4 years ago - a lot has happened since then.
On the day he lost the election, you never once ever heard the media refer to him as "The Maverick" again.
The Fake News Media is cranking out tons of anti-Vance garbage. But the never-Trumpers at FR and elsewhere are lapping it up and savoring every word.
Vance is a GOOD man. Democrats DESPISE GOODNESS.....period.
Sarah Palin filled the stadiums, not John McCain. He was wildly jealous of her and spread nasty rumors. When Sarah addressed the RNC convention the first t, people were totally blown away by her. It was the pickup that McCain needed and he squandered it with his jealousy. People in the press have gaslit the public about her since.
Palin was indeed a rock star..she went there where others feared to tread…she called out Obama as a community organizer and I can still hear the elite sucking their breath.
“Sarah Palin was a big reason why I voted for her and McLame.”
Sarah Palin was the ONLY reason why I voted for McLame.
In particular the evil Nathaniel Rakich.
She was unpopular with the mockingbird media. Vance is, too. It's a badge of honor to be despised by lowlife scum.
most of us voted for Palin
unfortunately McCain was on the same ticket
If what this article asserts is true then this article wouldn’t exist as the unpopularity of Vance would be obvious. This article is meant to convince not report.
Exactly.
Might mention that JD is likely not a Communist.
She wasn't.
With the people.
However, the DS wouldn't tolerate her and did a campaign to ruin her.
