Walz is AOC in a White old man's body.
She needed a mature looking white guy to give the ticket the appearance of being serious.
Kamala comes across as a giggling high school girl, with about the same amount of experience.
It’s all about appearances.
Democrats are very shallow people, and their primary concern is “What does it look like”.
This guy was never going anywhere anyway, and they didn’t want to waste one of the younger governors as a throw-away candidate. The dems have such a thin bench that they’re going to need the younger ones for later.

In addition to the points you noted he is looking at an obviously incompetent Secret Service and Pali protesters that would be a clear and present danger to him and his family.
To be blunt—at this point in their history I don’t think the Secret Service has the skills and determination that would be needed to protect them. DEI has doomed them.
