The Daily Mail broke the story that Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff knocked up his daughter’s nanny in the course of his first marriage. Relevant facts have yet to be filled in, but the New York Post has already followed up with this story. It is not clear whether the pregnancy ended with abortion, miscarriage, or the birth of a child. The Daily Mail vaguely reports only that nanny Najen Naylor “did not keep the child.”
The facts of need to be fleshed out. Emhoff himself has only acknowledged “tough times” in a statement to CNN: “During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side.”
Emhoff couldn’t have said less than he did. His statement all but invites the development of additional facts. Without them it is difficult to think through the political implications of the story. One has to wonder if Emhoff has paid off Nalor for a nondisclosure agreement that has kept her quiet to date.
Kamala Harris herself has back stories that reflect poorly on her and on her career. In its current euphoria the press has chosen to overlook them — the press other than the New York Post, that is. (Politico’s Jonathan Martin has taken them up in a backhanded way that won’t get him in trouble with his peers.)
This has to one of the Drudgiest stories of the year so far, but Drudge has yet to take note of it. It used to be a site that specialized in breaking news.

The real scandal is his connection to the vaxin patents, big pharma ligitation (DLA Piper ) and lobbying.
Him, "in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side.” Stronger? That's another word that I have somehow been mistaken on the definition. He got a divorce which had to have affected the kids, a 2nd marriage and rumors of him still cheating.
