San Francisco Mayor London Breed has ordered city officials to offer homeless people bus tickets out of town before offering them shelter or housing — a controversial policy that shunts the city’s homeless problem onto other towns.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported:
Mayor London Breed on Thursday ordered city employees to offer homeless people a bus ticket out of town before presenting shelter or housing as an option.
The mayor’s new executive order, which marks a shift from current practices, comes amid an escalated crackdown on homeless encampments after a recent court Supreme Court ruling gave city officials more power to enforce anti-camping laws. San Francisco officials are ramping up citations and arrests against homeless people who refuse to move indoors.
Thursday’s directive marks Breed’s latest effort to prove she’s taking a firm stance to address the city’s homelessness and overdose crises. Breed is in the middle of a tough re-election fight with many voters focused on the conditions of city streets and the state of unsheltered homelessness.

I think I see the problem...
Note to Governor Abbott: Her Honor is making more space available for the migrants you’ve been saving up for San Francisco.
Warm up those diesel engine buses!
There is no directing moral compass for liberals. Create a sanctuary city to draw all levels of undesirables in and then abandon the idea because it’s no longer politically expedient. Dump them on other communities when patience grows thin for being charitable or, rather, when patience for wanting to APPEAR charitable grows thin. Whichever way the winds of popular opinion blow, raise the sail and go to sea.
And so, liberal policies fail and are never examined.
“We stole a lot of money and made things worse for everyone. Here’s your bus ticket out of town so no one will look at our theft and failure.”
Better: out of the USA.
I thought when Frank Jordan tried this back in a better day he was immediately labeled “racist-sexist-homophobic-ohmygawd-ohmygawd-ohmygawd!!!” by San Francisco’s already burgeoning homeless advocacy industry. I guess Breed can put the bill on her Race Card and get away with it - since it’s a cleanup on Aisle 666 for Kamala. :)
Eventually they will get to the most obvious solution, after trying everything else and bankrupting themselves
minimum security Quonset hut encampments in the desert or state forests, where after being charged with vagrancy, they will work, away from their drug dealers and pimps.
Show me a city with a black female mayor and I’ll show you a shithole.....every time.
Exactly. This is dishonest and well, disgusting.
Some sanctuary.
Send them to Seattle since the people of Seattle follow after San Franfreako trends.
and the The Out-of-Towners will give them bus tickets back to San Francisco
San Francisco Mayor give homeless tickets to sell for more drugs.
California logic in progress.
The homeless can live on buses driving up and down the West Coast forever....
“Show me a city with a black female mayor and I’ll show you a shithole.....every time.”
Why pick on blacks should be
“Show me a city with a Democrat mayor and I’ll show you a shithole.....every time.”
I notice the mayor and the city council members haven’t offered to house 10 illegal aliens in each of their homes. I’m not holding my breath either.
I have watched over the last year here in Fresno conversion of several hotels into low income / no income housing. One project even has a developer from Chicago with ties to Obama. It is on the corner on Blackstone and Dakota named Cross roads. The demographic here in central Fresno is changing so rapidly. Blackstone is looking more and more like driving down a street in central LA.
I think the central planners are going to ship all homeless from LA and the Bay Area to Fresno. Sad.
This is what societal breakdown and total failure looks like, folks.
Things will go back to “normal” once the election is over - and I fully expect Breed to be re-elected, given SF’s voting habits.
I’d like to know which city the bus tickets are for - Sacramento would be appropriate, straight to the capital building.
