Donald Trump has questioned Kamala Harris' racial identity during a heated exchange at a convention for black journalists. Trump falsely claimed the vice-president and presumptive Democratic nominee had only emphasised her Asian-American heritage until recently when, he claimed, "she became a black person".
"I didn't know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black and now she wants to be known as black," he said at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago on Wednesday.
"So I don't know - Is she Indian? Or is she black?" Ms Harris said Trump's remarks were "the same old show" of "divisiveness... and disrespect".
"The American people deserve better," she told a meeting of the historically black sorority Sigma Gamma Rho in Houston. "We deserve a leader who understands that our differences do not divide us - they are an essential source of our strength."
Ms Harris is the first black and Asian-American vice-president, with Indian and Jamaican-born parents. She attended Howard University, a historically black university, and joined the predominantly black Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Do Leftists think semantics is only for them? They sure seem to get butthurt when conservatives call them out on their idiotic and meaningless semantics games.

So at this point any shades of brown could make claim to being black just by saying so, no proof needed. Amazing how these feckless media types are appalled that trump ask this question, how dare he question a so called black women on her ethnicity!
not that it really matters, but since most blacks in the Americas are 1/2 white, if her father was a black man from the Caribbean and her mom full Indian, she is most likely 1/4 white, 1/4 black, and 1/2 Indian.
Watched the exchange last night on a video shared here and Trump spoke in low and civil tones whereas the young woman practically screamed at him. No wonder why Disney/ABC is looking at cutting back on Good Morning America and other news related programming since who in their right mind would want to watch more than ten seconds of their bigoted woke slop.
I don’t think Trump was questioning her racial make up.
Trump was pointing out the fact that she will identify with whatever race is most beneficial to her at the moment.
Kamala does not play to her Jamaicaness, which is both legit and interesting on its own.
YOu have to wonder why.

Trump is right about that.Thats why the audience laughed when he mentioned it at the Black Journalist convention, and interestingly enough, Trump was sounding just like a black man on the issue. That drove the progressive lefty journalist whacky. Trump powned them. Let Trump be Trump. He knows exactly what he is doing...capturing the Black Male vote.
Kamala Harris was tough on crime, then switched to defund the police to garner Democrats votes. Kamala was adamant about banning fracking but now pro fracking for Democrat votes in Pennsylvania. Was Indian-American but more Democrat votes in being African-American. Kamala is a political opportunist.
What’s next? Will Kamala change pronouns to he/him to get more male votes?
Is “Imbecilic” a race?
Going back to before I was born, I think some people were just referred to as “coloreds”.
But that term was considered offensive (although perhaps the NAACP felt differently). But if we just lumped society into whites on the one hand and coloreds on the other hand, then distinctions like “black” or “Indian” wouldn’t really matter. But the Left said those differences DID matter. So now they have to choose whether Kamala is black or Indian. And she’s obviously not black.
Is she a feather Indian or a red dot Indian?

In a world where men can identify as women and vice versa and even participate in beauty contests and sports for what used to be of the opposite sex, and where white women can identify as black ( I’m looking at you Rachel Dolezal ), would it be wrong for Trump to use their own rules to identify as black?
After all, Bill Clinton was called the first “ Black President “ by Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison in The New Yorker.

She is trying to pull the wool over everyone’s eye. The Media is afraid not to go along, for fear they will limit political advertising revenue for their networks.
