Russia Condemns Killing of Hamas Leader Haniyeh
The Moscow Times ^ | 31st July 2024

Posted on 07/31/2024 4:08:27 AM PDT by Cronos

The Kremlin said it “strongly condemns” the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran after the militant group announced his death early Wednesday.

Hamas said the political leader was killed in an Israeli strike in Iran, where he was attending the inauguration ceremony of the country’s new president. The group vowed that the killing would “not go unanswered.”

“We believe that such actions are directed against attempts to establish peace in the region and can significantly destabilize an already tense situation,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

His comments mirrored those issued earlier by the Russian Foreign Ministry, which said in a statement that “it’s clear that the organizers of this political assassination were aware of the dangerous consequences for the entire region of this action.”

The Foreign Ministry also urged “all parties involved to exercise restraint and abandon steps that could lead to a dramatic deterioration of the security situation in the region.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov warned earlier on Wednesday that the killing of Haniyeh could lead to a larger regional conflict.

“This is all very bad. This is an absolutely unacceptable political assassination, and it will lead to further escalation of tensions,” he told the state news agency RIA Novosti.

You have to admit it was a pretty ballsy move to go into Iran and assassinate a Hamas Leader.

Reports are that it was an airstrike that took out this guy, the obvious questions are, how did Israel get aircraft from Israel into Iran, take this guy out and then get away.

Perhaps it was a long-range precision missile that took the guy out.

Who knows how it happened, it doesn’t say a lot for Iran’s air defenses that either a missile or aircraft made it all the way to Tehran undetected.

Terrorist groups don’t have “political leaders”. It’s open season on any Hamas member since Oct. 7.

Hamas can attack Israeli civilians at home with grotesque violence, but when Israel fights back by killing Hamas' military leaders, it is destabilizing for the world and might lead to a broader war.

Funny how that works.

The [Russian] Foreign Ministry also urged “all parties involved to exercise restraint and abandon steps that could lead to a dramatic deterioration of the security situation in the region.”

Meanwhile, Russia has no problem attacking & bombing civilians with kinetic missiles

Oh, the hypocrisy!

“Funny how that works.”

You might be going only half way here. The world can condemn Israel for fighting back and hitting citizens in Gaza, but they bitch about Israel killing the leaders of the groups that are attacking or shooting missiles into Israel at the same time. In other words, Israel is not allowed to fight back against aggression. And that is rediculous as that’s how they got to this situation of having to. Is thee a way for Israel to get it right? Not according to the muslim world.

My bet is some 20 year old tweaker bought a 5’ ladder, and used his dad’s AR. It’s the only possible way to do it.

When the Russian government strongly condemn the poisoning of opposition, political leaders, or the defenestration of opposition, political leaders, and their henchman, I will take what they say about this daring assassination seriously. Until then, not so much.

I am quite sure that the Russian government and, in particular, Putin are very serious people, and don’t actually believe that this assassination should be strongly condemned. They are merely posturing as expected for their terrorist allies.

You're like your father, the devil, a liar.

Ukraine is the side that has targeted civilians in Donetsk for 10 years and killed dozens of civilians on a beach in Crimea.

The Ukrainian army used civilians as human shields in Mariupol.

Ukraine attacked a nuclear power plant, attempting to cause a nuclear meltdown.

The Ukrainian government has imprisoned and murdered dissents like American Gonzalo Lira. It's rounded up conscripts against their will and sent them to the frontlines to die.

God KNOWS THE TRUTH. And, God is cursing Ukraine and, hopefully, depraved, sick individuals like you.

FU you Russian liar

Russia is the monster that started this unprovoked war, and you know it

Just like Russia started unprovoked wars with Moldavia and Georgia ... seems Russia is just incapable of getting along with countries, huh?

BTW, if you support the evil Russian regime, do you also support its demonic friends, like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran?

It’s not like he was running against Bibi for PM, so why kill him. A little mass murder never hurt anyone./sarc
