The Hill is citing “well-connected Democratic Party insiders” in reporting that Beshear is among several “serious” candidates to be considered for the vice president nominee if President Biden withdraws from the race.

The Hill reports his name is on a shortlist to be Kamala Harris’s vice presidential pick.

Other names mentioned include Arizona Senator Mark Kelly and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.

In recent days, there have been an increasing number of calls from major Democratic Party officials for President Biden to withdraw from the race. Despite these calls, Biden has remained adamant that he is staying in the campaign.

That’s worrisome. Does it mean Trump loses Mitch McConnells support?

Let the parade of nobodies begin

Even Michelle Obama couldn’t win at this point ... and Dems know it

Counter point to JD Vance, the whole hillbilly meme, Democrats wanting to show they like hillbillies?

I don’t know if he’s from the Appalachian part of Kentucky, or from a similar background to Vance. Just saying Kentucky is a state in which a major part of the state is in Appalachia, and if we are cynical, we could see Democrats try to push that idea.

Rank and file Dems will scream bloody murder if Kamala doesn't get it. The "year in, year out" DU types have their hearts set on Joe or Kamala. There will be outright revolt if either of those two are not at the top of the ticket. Dumping Biden for another White guy is not going to work. Major fail.

Beshear isn't a "nobody." He's one of the few competent Dems that doesn't prioritize the wingnuts in his party. And he's Governor of Kentucky, a solid red state.

If I was the DNC, I'd just make him the presidential choice. He could give Trump a run for his money.

If so, they’ll market him as a “moderate” Democrat; of course, he only gets to keep the label ‘Democrat’ if he toes the party line.

Kentucky is amazingly diverse. From the Mississippi River to the Appalachian Mountains. It's a big state, and yes, a diverse state. Lexington is super rich with horse farms and wealthy people. Louisville is kind of ghetto. Bowling Green is a bucolic university town. The coal fields are only one part of the beautiful state.

I hereby nominate Zac “Big Hopper” Jackson, the Mayor of Toadsuck, Arkansas to be the Democrat nominee for vice president.

His motto is;

“A frog in every pot and your money in my pocket”

Govs. Beshear and Shapiro would both be game-changers. They'd be extremely competitive.

Problem one, the Dems would betray their "Diversity over everything else" wing of the base.

Problem two, the window of opportunity to run a competitive race is quickly closing.

Problem three, Biden/Harris aren't going anywhere. If not Biden, then Harris will be the nominee.

If the Democrats were smart, they'd sideline these guys until 2028 when maybe some sanity has returned to the party and they can start fresh with a clean slate.

Beshear is certainly no hillbilly. His corrupt father was governor twice. He squeaked in for multiple reasons, but the two biggest are his baby face looks and the family political dynasty here. I call his father Papa Doc Beshear and him Baby Doc Beshear. Most illiterate younger people have no idea what I am referencing. Both are corrupt far leftist authoritarians who present themselves as moderates. NOT true. But they are successful at it.

Have they asked Beshear? Maybe he doesn’t want to go down with this ship.

I’ve heard mention of Josh Shapiro, but he is Jewish. Not really a great fit for today’s Democratic party. Get rid of genocide Joe from the ticket and put a Jew on it! I Don’t think so.

Beshear was the Gov who sent his State Police to take down license plate numbers of people who went to Church on Easter Sunday. Never Forget!

These guys must be all dumber than her. Rule number 1, never pick anyone that’s smarter than you to be your second in command.
