Kentucky is amazingly diverse. From the Mississippi River to the Appalachian Mountains. It's a big state, and yes, a diverse state. Lexington is super rich with horse farms and wealthy people. Louisville is kind of ghetto. Bowling Green is a bucolic university town. The coal fields are only one part of the beautiful state.

It is a beautiful state. Underrated by most. The wife and I often discuss moving there, Lexington area in particular (not the city per se, but the counties nearby). LEX airport can connect to NYC or DEN or SLC or ATL. It’s a relatively easy drive to Nashville or Cincinnati if one was so inclined.
I wish they’d get rid of the income tax, though. Sure it’s lower than most states, but the state would probably suddenly get a lot more attention if they dropped it altogether.
