Tucker Carlson, Ousted by Fox, Roars Into Milwaukee as a Top Trump Ally
New York Times ^ | July 18, 2024 | Michael M. Grynbaum and Jim Rutenberg

After time away from the spotlight, the right-wing host is increasingly welcomed by Trump’s inner circle. He also made a surprise visit to Fox’s convention studio.

All of a sudden, Tucker Carlson has roared back to the forefront of Republican politics. Once the top-rated anchor on Fox News — only to be abruptly ousted 15 months ago, his national platform yanked out from under his feet — Mr. Carlson has made an improbable re-emergence into America’s living rooms at this week’s Republican National Convention. He was the first person to greet Donald J. Trump after the former president’s dramatic entrance in the convention hall on Monday, and cameras later caught them joking together in Mr. Trump’s friends and family box, just two seats apart.

...

But behind the scenes over the past year, Mr. Carlson has become more deeply allied with Mr. Trump than at any point in his long relationship with the former president, a man for whom the broadcaster once expressed deep ambivalence.

Mr. Carlson lobbied Mr. Trump to select Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, who had been a frequent guest on his Fox show, as his running mate, and he helped broker a meeting in Milwaukee between Mr. Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent presidential candidate.

I refuse to watch Fox News or visit their website. I don’t trust any of the major media outlets. They talking heads toe the corporate line and the Meg corporations are now engaging in corporate fascism and the impoverishment and enslavement of Americans. Trusting corporate news is like believing a corporate HR letter that tells you cutting your insurance benefits is a good thing for you.

This week? The morons haven’t been paying attention. Tucker has a show on X that is also streamed on Rumble which gets tons of views. He didn’t “reappear” this week. He’s been back ever since he and his crew constructed a home studio for him a couple months after his ouster at Fox.

O’Reilly pops up during my YouTube watching and I sometimes watch him so I’m sure if you search for him, you’d be able to find him.

I doubt he would have the temperament for that.

Tucker is decent at what he does. He’s a little out there for me sometimes, but he can write well and he can be fun to watch.

He would get so tired for the press corp, I think it would come down to fisticuffs. LOL

“Until now at least, Tucker Carson has never been a big fan of Trump.”

False.....Carlson has been a Trump supporter for some time but as a pseudo-journalist he had to give the impression that he was at least attempting to be impartial.

You can watch both Tucker and Bill on YouTube or Rumble on their streaming channel.

I subscribe to Tucker’s and several others on YouTube.
FYI, I pay for regular YouTube without commercials. Not YouTube TV. Just the regular channel that I get with my Roku TV.

I do not think it pays enough.

Although, at this point, I do not think Tucker needs the money.

Similar to the Treasury Secretary typically takes a huge cut in pay to take that job.

Carlson could be the Communications Director, while Byron Donalds is the Press Secretary.

“They no longer are conservative and unbiased.”

While they are obviously not flaming liberal.. They never were strictly conservative either. ..except maybe a handful of host.. Otherwise, mostly Moderates ..neocons.. RINOs.. quite a few libs.. and assorted nuts made up Fox Noos.

Their news coverage was more conservative than the other alphabet noos channels but again ..kind of a mixed bag..

I don’t care who will be press secretary. It will be someone competent. I want someone who will set the ground rules. Those rules should include any network who ever intimated or outright said Trump is a threat to democracy will never get time to ask an unprepared, pre-vetted question. They should be fine with that as those were the rules under Biden. If they want the privilege, they will have to run a correction of their lies, before every press conference. More rules can be added. But that’s an imperative

time away?

Tucker Carlson has had more viewers experiencing his content on twitter, youtube, and rumble than he ever did on fox.

hell, one of this interviews had over 300M viewers.

fox and the other networks WISH they had those numbers

Yep. Me too!
