I’ve been listening to podcasts with interviews of ex-SS and ex-Military snipers who protected high-value individuals. They have covered thousands of such events. It sounds like every event has one or more such threats and such calls have to be made all the time.
It all comes down to how credible the report was in this case, the nature of the threat, source of the intel, etc.
