Extremist figures and members of the Make America Great Again movement have criticized the wife of Ohio Senator JD Vance after former President Donald Trump named him as his running mate in the 2024 election.

In the wake of Trump's vice presidential announcement on Monday, numerous conservative and far-right figures have taken to social media to launch racist attacks against Usha Vance because of her Indian heritage and the assumption that her influence on her husband's political career means the Republican Party will be softer on immigration.
"I'm sure this guy is going to be great on immigration," Jaden McNeil, a far-right activist and the founder of America First Students, wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing a picture of the Vances with their newborn baby.
Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist who visited Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home along with rapper Kanye West in November 2022, suggested that Vance would not be a "defender of white identity" because of his wife's Indian heritage.
"Who is this guy, really?" Fuentes said on his podcast. "Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?"
Vincent James Foxx, who was present at the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, wrote on X: "JD Vance gets tapped as VP and immediately there's a Hindu prayer at the RNC. Next we'll see Sen. Mike Lee and JD Vance team up to convince Trump to let in 10 million Indian immigrants. Green cards on diplomas!"
Conservative commentator Stew Peters wrote, "There is an obvious Indian coup taking place in the US right before our eyes," while sharing a screenshot of an article about the Vances' three children.

I had no idea who JD Vance was. The first video that came up from a search was him speaking on July 10th to some conservative group.
I didn’t watch much of it. He started off saying that what makes America strong is our economy. And the military is strong because of our economy.
And the biggest threats to us are illegal immigration and having China make all of our stuff for us.
That was in the first 2 minutes. I didn’t need to watch anymore of the video to see that I like him.

As far as I’m concerned, the only negative on his wife is that they met at Yale Law School, which makes them both suspect.:) I gather that she was the academic star while he was the working class kid who rose through the Marines to Ohio State to Yale Law School. JD married up.

In any case, it’s a moot point now. And I stopped caring about it a couple days ago. If Trump wants to dilute America’s foundation and make us even weaker, it’s his choice.

I don’t care about anyone’s race, but I do believe Christianity is the religion all should have and that immigrants from other countries, once in the US and citizens, should not expect chain migration to be allowed and they should not subvert our country over their native country’s desires.
JD’s wife was born in United States. She is not an immigrant. More Gods are good. Each one has special purpose. When I was a student, I mainly prayed Saraswati, because she is goddess of smarts. Must have helped since I graduated from University of Iowa with almost all straight A’s including my research thesis determining thermal distortions of satellite antennas due to sun exposure on one side and subzrro temps on opposite side. After I began working for a large corporation I prayed to Laxmi, goddess of wealth. That worked very well as well. Now in my golden years, I worship Shiva who rules when I will depart the world.
