Home Depot should fire her if her conduct is hurting their business. Otherwise, it’s all free speech.

If she identified herself by name as a Home Depot employee, of course she should be fired. (It is almost certainly part of her employment agreement.)

The only reason cancel culture became a thing is because those who used it never suffered it’s consequences (at first.) If the right had counterpunched then, that whole thing would have been like a bad summer before being swept under the rug once recognized as the mutually assured destruction it certainly is.
Well... after that shooting, a lot of people became hopping mad, about as riotous as we get. If some take that out in the form of flagging clearly abhorrent anti-social behavior regarding the shooting, then so be it. Better that than acting the fool. At least for awhile.

Yes, Home Depot definitely should fire her. Completely within their prerogative to do so. Home Depot should also put out ad spots telling the public that they fired her based on her inflammatory comments about the assassination attempt, and that Home Depot, while supporting free speech, doesn’t want employees who are so hate-filled that they would want a former President killed. That’s not the kind of person that HD wants working there and serving their customers.
The guy that owns Home Depot is a Trump supporter. As for the question, I don’t have a problem with it.
