Local police encountered attempted-assassin Thomas Crooks just moments before he tried to kill former president Donald Trump — but failed to stop the gunman despite the clear threat, according to a report.
After rallygoers spotted Crooks on the roof of a manufacturing plant just 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, police were notified and one officer climbed a ladder to investigate, law enforcement officials said on the condition of anonymity.
There the officer encountered Crooks, who pointed his AR-style rifle at them.
The officer then backed down the ladder, and Crooks immediately took aim and loosed eight shots at the former president – grazing him in the ear, killing one bystander in the rally crowd, and gravely wounding two others.

Pre-engineer manufactured buildings often have built- in maintenance ladders.
That right there is inciting an assassination attempt. She should be tried for this major crime, sentenced to the appropriate 500 years, and promptly forgotten.

I wouldn’t bet money that was the case, but it certainly is a possibility. The shooter was prone, and was perhaps a decent distance away from that cop. “Oh,” the incompetent cop says to himself, “That’s just another SS guy. Who else could he be?”
I suppose the whole truth will come out once an honest commission does a thorough and complete investigation. In other words, we’ll never know the whole truth.
The building that the shooter decides to use is the building not secured. It is not unreasonable to assume that he was told to use that building. Do you think he went there thinking that building was free or do you think that he noticed the building was free and said what the heck and went for it?
I’m doubting the story.. cop goes up on the roof, shooter points a gun at the cop and the cop backs down... Not buying it.

The Secret Service was in on it.
If the officer felt it too dangerous to engage the shooter, he/she should have fired a round into the ground to get the SS attention.
I think this stinks way way beyond coincidence.

Even when his head was not visible, that officer could just shoot rounds off into the air, which would alert everyone.
That clown has no idea what he’s talking about. Trump isn’t out of the woods yet. I doubt the mastermind of the attempt died yesterday. Does anyone know if Biden typically goes to church 5:30 on a Saturday?
The 19 students and 2 teachers of the Uvalde elementary school would like to have a word with you. Unfortunately, they can’t as the cops did nothing while they were being slaughtered.*

“Why would the officer climb the ladder? Investigate? If he’s on the roof with a rifle at a Trump rally, shoot first, ask questions later.”
The whole scene, yesterday from civilians trying to warn the local cops about a man with a rifle on that roof to the shots being fired by him. Then, he was shot in the head by a SS guy on another roof top. This happened in about 10 seconds.
This will be debated for the next 50+ years like the killing of JFK.
