They called him an illegitimate president.
They said he was a threat to democracy and had to be stopped.
They unleashed a legion of agents to investigate him, searched his home and broke historic barriers by indicting him.
Then they rigged a trial in a bid to put him in prison.
They called him un-American and worse. Their lawyers and activists fought to keep him off the fall ballots in a dozen blue states as a way — get this — to defend democracy.
They are still trying to bankrupt him and confiscate his businesses.
And now they have shot him.

I saw a replay video of it about thirty minutes after it happened and my first impression of it was that Trump purposely dropped to the deck and it seemed like forever before any agents came over and covered him. I kept thinking “where the hell are the SS agents?”
I’ve watched it again since then and haven’t changed my take on it.

And CNN’s first headline was “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage as he falls at rally” as if to compare it to Joetato falling down at the Air Force Academy graduation ceremonies.

Trumps first reaction was to drop for cover... I believe that the fist pumping was a stress reaction. He’s bouncing back after taking a shot with grit and fury. As for the SS, those failures came down from the top. That was a huge crowd and there’s how is it possible that those rooftops were not covered and patrolled. How did that kid gain access to a rooftop with a kill shot at the president? What made him think that he could do that? That is the question that needs to be asked and there’s some resignations in order.
But I smell a warren commission style coverup coming.

What made him think he could do that? That’s a very perceptive question. It’s one thing for some nut-case without a plan to show up with a gun and get nabbed by the Secret Service trying to sneak past the metal detector, or rushing the stage with a pen knife. This was different. He knew enough to know where he could go to carry out his plan without being detected, which suggest coordination with someone(s) on the inside.
