Joe Biden is said to be in 'denial' about having to withdraw from the presidential election following his dismal debate performance last week, as some of his campaign donors become ever more worried about his mental acuity.
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief has insisted he is staying in the race amid calls from members of his own party to step aside and hand the reins over to a younger Democrat.
But even those who are publicly vouching for Biden have admitted in private that there is no path forward with him at the top of the ticket, according to the Washington Post.
A donor adviser has now estimated that 'for every 10 people who think he should exit, one thinks he should stay.'
Others have suggested that even Biden knows on some level that he is doomed.
'I think he's focused on recovering,' one person who spoke with the president on the Fourth of July told the Post.
'But I personally think he's still in the denial phase of grief.'
For five days after the debate, the president had only given 32 minutes of combined public comments - all of which were scripted.
At one of those appearances, at a $100million East Hampton mansion, donors were left stunned when Biden described a French cemetery in Normandy as 'Italian,' insiders said.
He then only spoke for six minutes before leaving without taking any questions.

They really didn’t have a choice. The debate was impossible for them to hide what was really going on. In the past, he would only appear for a few minutes here and there at a script up here and not taking any so much more easily. A 90 minute unscripted debate was always going to be a disaster for him.

The time to challenge him was a couple months ago. The MSM should have reported on his dementia. Then the voters would have selected a better candidate so they can beat Trump.

George Stephanapoulos interviewing Biden said “Wouldn’t a clear-eyed political calculus tell you it’s going to be much tougher to win in 2024?” Stephanspoulos asked Biden referring to the abysmal polls.
Steph said he has never seen a president w/ 36% approval get re-elected. Biden denied he was polling at 36% approval and then issued a cryptic, veiled threat against Trump.
“Not when you’re running against a pathological liar. Not when he hadn’t been challenged in a way that he’s about to be challenged,” Biden said with a sinister look on his face.

Why should Joe drop out? The MSM covered for him the past 4 years. They’ll get in line by August.
So, even you see that Biden will not get 2x as much as Trump. Also, you referred to donations to Biden. Not hypothetical donations to a hypothetical replacement of Biden.
Whether he has the faculties to realize his impending departure or not is irrelevant. THOSE around him (e.g., his family and ‘assistants’) will ensure that pardon and/or immunity mechanisms are in place before he’s told to leave.
There are vastly more crimes here than those trumped up 34 felony counts NYCs Bragg brewed up. We’re talking very serious crimes: bribery, extortion, use of office for monetary gain, lying and coverup of the President’s serious debilities, use of public office and authority to persecute political enemies, mishandling of classified information and a host of other crimes.
A new President and a new DOJ and new US Attorneys will see to him and his robbing crew
Biden will drop out.
There is no winning path but one for Joetato or any Democrat.
