As a Republican who considers Trump a “clear and present danger,” it’s undeniable he was more energized, dominating the entire 90 minutes. With rules to prohibit his infamous interruptions, he only had to smirk at Biden’s struggles.

This type of 'Republican,' the type that preferred Gerald Ford over Ronald Reagan (McConnell), or now prefers Joe Biden over Donald Trump, will soon be no more. They have become the Democrats they always were.

Jim Martin is 88 years old. He of the George H.W. Bush, Mitch McConnell era GOP country club. He was relevant in a time when politics was mostly civil and the Democrat party was “liberal” not radical leftist. It was also an era when behaving gentlemanly was more important than winning. Is Jim Martin even writing these pieces or does the old man simply sign his name to something a staffer puts in front of him?
He was a good governor in his day (1985-1993). Like many, as he aged he became softer and more genteel. In 2016 he endorsed John Kasich for the Republican nomination. He blames Trump, not his Democrat friends for the coarseness of today’s politics.

This guy is worse than a typical RINO, as he is purposely aiding and abetting the Treasonous RAT party to destroy America.

The RINO squishes like this guy have gradually been forced out in North Carolina for the most part. The job is not done. We still have a few to flush down the toilet - like Thom Tillis for example - but for the most part you don't see losers like this guy representing the Republican party in this state anymore.
And good riddance to them.
