After 1865 and the surrender of the Confederacy, Americans managed to muddle through, be responsible toward one another, recognize that what happened was tragic, and rebuild the nation over many years. The result by 1945 was a strong nation of high human capital that could put guys from New York next to men from South Carolina side by side in battle and win wars together. This was an extraordinary achievement. You must remember more men died in the American Civil War than all other American wars combined, so to set such enmity aside is a big deal.
Now we can’t even agree on basic norms. Competence in government is clearly at an all time low. Mass immigration, without any breaks for assimilation or even efforts at assimilation, has torn apart a sense of unity. It’s grim, and it’s important to recognize that if we want things to improve.
The fact that we are actively trying to tear apart the progress post 1865 of rebuilding the nation by humiliating the ancestors of Confederate soldiers says it all. It’s a grotesque, nasty business, desecrating monuments and graves. And we will know things are on the road to improvement if we can vanquish this entirely, and treat the 15,000 men who attacked at Gettysburg 161 years ago today with the respect all Americans had for their bravery as recently as 25 years ago.

If Biden resigns the presidency or if he doesn’t run, one person who has a lot of explaining to do is Kamala Harris.
She has a weekly lunch with him. She sees him regularly.
Why did she gaslight us? Why does she tell us how sharp Biden is? I get she may be loyal, but she’s the tip of the cover-up spear.

No matter how accomplished, no matter how old, we yearn to call our parents. To hear their affirming words, “Well done!” We may be wildly successful, but we’ll always be their son or daughter.
Sadly, not everyone has this kind of relationship with their earthly parents. But through Jesus, we all can have God as our Father. We who follow Christ are brought into the family of God, for “the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship” (Romans 8:15). We’re now “heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ” (v. 17). We don’t speak to God as a slave but now have the freedom to use the intimate name Jesus used in His hour of desperate need, “Abba, Father” (v. 15; see also Mark 14:36).
Do you have news? Do you have needs? Call the one who is your eternal home.
What news or needs would you love to share with your earthly parents? What can you tell your heavenly Father? He’s listening.
Gracious Father, thank You for being the one to whom I can call on in prayer anytime.

How adorable! And industrious! I had an Honor Garden Stand at my other farm as I had good traffic flow. Never had anyone steal from me, but I DID lose the whole thing to a Semi that hit my stand, trying to avoid an accident.
The driver was SO apologetic and came back to help me rebuild it. Seems he came from a farm family, too!

Right now it’s about tannish and it’s gonna be very hot today Mid90s so I want to get outside before it gets cruelly hard it’s so just sort of semi hot right now.

Sounds like a very nice semi-driver! Isn’t it just so much better when everyone acts with some honor and kindness?!
Audrey will have to settle for an honor stand, even though she wants to peddle her veggies. We won’t let her stand out there at the end of the driveway by herself.....those days when you didn’t have to worry about such things are long gone.
I suspect that in the end, I will be purchasing the majority of her crops myself lol. She’s already unloaded all of the basil on me, even though I have my own. I don’t mind - I just throw it in a bag and freeze it for over the winter.
