The Democrats had plenty of time to edge Biden out. Despite all the talk, no one seriously tried to do it.
Now they’re stuck.
The DNC rigged the primaries for Biden. He’s the nominee. There are possible convention challenges, but they’re a longshot because the power behind Joe Biden isn’t Jill Biden (many seem to think that a D of Ed community college talent is the Machiavelli here), but a network of political careerists who are using him and who in traditional fashion control the DNC. They’d have to be dealt in or crushed and the whole show would further wreck the party’s standing. It’s an open question if the Dems suffer worse with Biden on the ballot or a divisive convention fight that splits the party. Any talk of a 25th Amendment would be the same problem x 10.
Can the Dems get Biden out?
It’s possible. But it would require a rapid concerted effort to inform Biden that he can’t run again and has to announce that he will drop out for health reasons (and maybe to be there for Hunter and his family.)
That means Obama, Hillary and every influential party figure staging an intervention, it means informing key DNC people that unless they switch sides, they will be blacklisted, and making it clear that there is no longer an option in which Biden is the candidate.
Can this happen? Yes. But it would require getting everyone on board. And that would be a challenge (but much less than it would have been last week).
And yet at the end of the day, Biden can (and very well might) tell them to all go to hell. Obama was able to persuade Biden not to run in 2016. He may be less persuadable now. That leaves few good options.

Actually they might be able to. Of course The Big Guy can pardon Hunter and his other co-conspirators. But can he pardon himself? If not Rat Party Headquarters can dangle in front of him the possibility of prison time for the 10% stuff in the laptop unless he goes quietly.
That’s why Joe is going to hang on. He doesn’t want him or anyone of his family to end up in jail.
He won’t leave. Too arrogant. And Jill won’t either.
Joe can win with the manufactured vote.
The DIMocRATs can impeach him. They do know the steps it takes to impeach a president.
Hillary won’t let Biden survive.

Just have Harris and a few cabinet members invoke the 25th Amendment.....

With Trump, there is no guarantee the Dems can strike a deal they can keep with Joe.
If/when the Soros gang gives 0bamas gang the orders to drop Joe, he’ll be dropped. One way or the other.

If it were true, it would mean that Biden IS in charge and calls the shots.

The presidency is the closest thing to king of the world that anyone can get. For Biden or any other nominee, there is no upside to getting out. Trump lost popular majorities in two elections. He’s also gaffe-prone. If Biden decides to get out, he truly is senile. If he stays in, he has a shot at a second term. If he gets out, he never will. It really is that simple. His only downside is losing, same as it ever was.
There’s a take on this debate I’ve heard from a lot of folks on the right, that is tempting and understandable, but completely wrong— one that says that the Democrats knew Biden would bomb this badly and scheduled the debate early so they could move him out of the way.
Nonsense.
Most of the people closest to Biden who would have been making these decisions are Dem apparatchiks, but more specifically, they are Biden apparatchiks. They wouldn’t enjoy anywhere near the same power and access with his successor. For better or worse, their fates are tied to Biden specifically.
They had the debate early because they knew that while Biden was not in great shape, they had drunk the Kool-Aid and convinced themselves, at least to some degree, of the lies they have been telling for years to the American people about his mental state.
Biden’s people thought that if they worked with the most favorable rules, on the most favorable network with the most favorable moderators, and gave Biden a full week to prep, they would be able to get through it and even if they didn’t “win” it would be far enough from the election that voters would ignore a mediocre performance.
They were not counting on what a disaster it would be to have Biden fully unmasked 1:1 vs. a competent and energetic opponent.
Yes, Biden’s performance was such a disaster that it’s tempting to think “this was all planned” but that’s only if you ignore the levels of self-deception, lying and magical thinking that have dominated the Democrat party for years now.
That’s what was exposed on the debate stage last night.
If I were Newsom or Whitmer or Jarod Polis, I’d get far away from Biden ASAP. They would be putting their 2028 presidential hopes at risk.
Hilary is a burl on the body politic. I don’t think Michelle wants to be president. Mayor Pete is a glorified administrative clerk.
It comes down to Kamala or RFK Jr.

A friend of mine is concerned that the Rats will be desperate enough to instruct judge whatever his name is to sentence Trump to prison and immediate incarceration.
Potentially causing a violent backlash by normal people which would give them the excuse to declare martial law. I’ve no doubt that there is a significant portion of Rat insiders that believe that is a good option. Will they prevail?
One thing I believe is that martial law now would put a bullseye on every man in a uniform carrying a gun. Martial law in a country where the despots have already disarmed the populace is one thing. America is another.
Biden can’t leave, that would be the Democratic party admitting they effed up and their ego will not allow that
