Supreme Court rejects Bannon's appeal, former Trump adviser must report to prison Monday

Steve Bannon, a former Trump adviser, must report to prison by Monday after the Supreme Court rejected his appeal on Friday.

Bannon was previously convicted in July 2022 of contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas from the House Jan. 6 select committee.

That requires balls and a spine, something GOP inc lacks

...doesn't that include those of us who voted for them?

We sit back and continue to give OUR "balls and spine" to "paid off by parasite$$$" politicians to do OUR dirty work for us...then are surprised or bitch and moan when they fail to do so.

THAT is the reaction I'd expect to see from naive people that believe in this "democracy" the democrats continue to spew about...

That includes ANY government, republican or democrat.

...just because one is MORE corrupt, shouldn't give the other a pass/benefit of the doubt.

In our form of government, ANY/ALL of gov. was/is only supposed to have (very) limited powers, over the people, over the purse.

...post cabal takeover, that is simply no longer the case.

As such, "we the people" only have OURSELVES to blame for allowing this "coup by parasites" to happen/continue...ALL of us.

Yes, and because it’s a state case, the federalists on the Court will use the same reasoning as the political corruption case they just kicked back to the states for action. They’ll avoid recognizing a federal interest for as long as legally possible.

This is a double edged sword. The GOP is very likely to take the three branches in the 2024 November elections by majority.

Johnson should make it very clear to the democrats/Rinos this can be used in exactly this fashion.

There will be no more Eric Holder’s going free. The House is going to subpoena or find in contempt of Congress as they run or sit for inquiries.

Johnson will remind them that he would like to see a bipartisan effort to bring this change up on the floor, and dropped since it likely Bannon will be a part of Trumps Administration. An olive branch of sorts.

Make the point that Trump has already put the sword to Ukraine for their role in his impeachment(s). Trump has shown a capacity to play hardball having been taught well by your best efforts.

If Johnson cannot get this dropped by the house or rescinded or simply charged with jail time, it would help to ease the hostile divide between the two parties.

Barring a positive result for Bannon, this is the moment that they have thrown down the gunlet and Trump is going to pick it up and use it against them.

After the debate and with Biden resisting any effort to replace him on the ticket, the Democrats may think that putting Trump in jail is their best hope of winning the election. Merchan may be waiting for their instructions.

Biden did manage to use the debate to push smears against Trump--pretending he is guilty of "sexual assault" because of that ludicrous E. Jean Carroll trial. Hunter Biden's father and mentor has the temerity to claim that Trump has the morals of an alley cat. No one ever mentions that Biden began his affair with Jill while she was married to someone else.
